What was the first City match after you were born?

In February, 1949 City beat Newcastle 1-0 at Maine Road. 51,000 present. Frank Swift was in goal. The team also included Eric Westwood, Johnny Hart, George Smith, and a William Bootle who only played for City six times.
And Jackie Oakes - was that Alan's dad?

We revenged this defeat by beating Birmingham City at home 3-0

Day after I was born. Apparently my dad stayed up with me and my mum all night the night before (I was born at 10.30pm) then went to the pub on the morning then to the match and got absolutely pissed!! My mum didn't see him again until Sunday night!
