Oh dear what a start to my time, and our goal was an OG, bloody hell.

Born in January, 1941, so my first match was four years later, the FA CUP (first leg, at home ) against BARROW, result 6-2 to City, they won the away leg 2 - 2, giving an overall 8 - 4 win, My hero Frank Swift in goal!!! Any advance on that ?

I think I could have it worse than anyone else.

20/9/1961 - The day of my birth we got beat 3 -1 by the terrorists, Everton.

Three days later we lost 3 - 2 in the Derby.

A defeat for mine as well.

Presume Oakes and Young must have been injured. Stan Bowles in for Oakes was a rathar attacking replacement.

25 September 1948 - battling nil-nil draw at St James'.

Rather fitting then that I returned there some 19 years later, to watch us lift the Big One!
