What was the terrace fashion on the Kippax in the 1980s?

I remember the FA Cup game at Maine Road against Hartlepool. Can't remember the year but what stood out was the way the away fans were dressed. They looked as though they had been stuck in some kind of time warp. Hob nail boots, denim jackets and jeans that would have put Skinners to shame. 6 -0 final score.

Cracking movie Awaydays, especially the soundtrack
It was accurate in representing Tranmere Rovers. Everton took on the Peter Storm look afterwards. This is my recollection of the time. I wore jumbo red cords with leg warmers pulled up to the knee with an Italian style combat pulled in at the waist jacket from the army and navy store on Tib Street.

Was never into the sporting gear but had Peter storm, ocean pacific , ciao , c17 jeans , fiorucci sweaters , Lois cords . And trainers were adidas indoor courts Dunlop green flash even hi tec squash or any squash trainers . Loved the fashion back then .

Tickles me how a lot of fans claim their clubs were the height of fashion in the 80s .

Reality was that for every lad in ‘gear’ there was 10 stood there in terry 2 stripe trainers, market jeans , b.o, greasy hair and smelling of greenalls induced farts, with one leg shorter than the other and a tick

Them Italian army jackets were huge in South Manchester early 80s, with the stars on the collars
Tib St army and navy was an amazing place back in the day
We used to head to Tib St every Saturday morning as a rabble of horrible, annoying and occasionally larcenous little 11 year old rats feom Longsight.
After we got chucked out of the joke shop and the pet shop, we’d eventually land at the army and navy and knew not to fuck about in there. But they were sound enough and indulged us, showing us their collection of “paperweights” - ie knuckle dusters, coshes and military daggers.
“Make a good Christmas present for yer mam, that”…

City fans always wore the casual gear, united fans were still wearing Jean jackets with mufc ok on there backs in the 80’s
Bay City Rollers tramps, absolute scruffs
How we allowed paraffins like O’Neill to make out he was a clothes horse was pitiful
Have you seen the Harpurhey Market gear he wears on that podcast with that Webbeh goon?
Fucking hell, they could walk into the Millstone on a rainy Tuesday afternoon and be the worst dressed faces in the place
