What was the terrace fashion on the Kippax in the 1980s?

Anyone remember that shop in the arndale that did'nt have prices on but just colours like green a fiver, orange a tenner.and you could just swap the tags to the cheapest one and they didn't give a fuck.
And the fit girls in gansgear.Oasis for adidas trainers in the underground near that leather jacket shop. The army and navy shop with bullet holes from nam in the combat jackets and that mute nutter in afflecks palace after 50p for the bus.but Hurleys was the best though
My mate and I had a bit of a crush on one of the female assistants in Gansgear back in the mid 80's. God, she must must be knocking 50 now - at least!

I would wear all that now with a nice pork pie hat or deer stalker.

Thing is a lot of terrace fashion mirrored a lot of mod/skinhead/rude boy fashion with a flair for decent adidas trainers, that look was also favourie in the late 80's early 90's of the indie look and has since been a popular fashion amongst more than football fans.

never wore a replica shirt to a game a city pin badge on a lapel was always enough (always got one on every coat/jacket)

I have a Peter Storm cagoule. I had to wear it this morning as it was pissing it down. I'm otherwise in a tracksuit top if it's mild or a parka if it's cold. Trainers are about the one thing I am super fussy about. Had a belting trip to Liverpool a few months back to try Transalpino for vintage trainers. Came back with some Forest Hills.

I do wear a replica shirt. Wore one my Welsh away jerseys for the cup tie v Huddersfield as it was St. David's Day. Got a bit of playful stick on the concourse at half time. Tend to stick to classics or ones with an ironic cool to them.

Interesting question.

The company TOFFS was started in 1990,which made and continues to make 'retro' shirts, but if you mean contemporary club shirts in general, then I think the 1990 World Cup was the watershed moment. That summer truly transformed so many aspects of English culture. I would imagine that shirts were thenceforward mass produced and worn by adults and children alike.

That at least is my recollection.

Digressing but being in Italy for 1990 WC was the last time I could identify with an English national team. Gazza, Butcher, Pearce, even Bobby Robson all proper football people who you could've had a drink with. Not had a lot of interest since bar Euros in England and don't even watch them on tv anymore much really.
