i thought our final ball was appalling today. Also i dont think we were quick enough to shift the ball from one player to the next. I thought the defence played well however we should have marked up better for the goal.

Your thoughts on the game.

We didn't play well, but we didn't get killed, AND it looks like no injuries!

to be honest we werent very good today and got beat by a lucky misshit goal..

Chelsea were terrible..their finishing was crap.

We were shite. Chelsea outplayed us all over the park. Static everywhere, Chelsea were first to the second ball all the time. Long way to go.

To be fair this is not a must win game, more important that we get a result on Thursday and beat Sunderland next week. I think it is about time the Boj was given longer than 10 mins from what I have seen (and it is very little) he is head and shoulders (obviviously not in height )above Ched and big Phil and it would be nice to give him a longer run out.

We were pretty poor really. Nowhere near enough possesion and Caicedo is as slow as a shire horse (he hardly ever wins the ball). Dunny had a good game though.

wow. Keeney your most active topic i one you created called. Fucking shit today.

Another negative mary who appears on poor results.

final ball shite, but chelsea were better all over the park. Ned played well

soft in the centre of midfield

I'd say that just about sums it up.

Although Dunne and Onuoha played well.

Our defense seems to be getting better everyday, Nedum was sick at the back, Dunne too! Final ball in 3rd quarter was terrible, Chelsea midfield was way too strong for us, we really missed Kompany and De Jong. If we didn't switch off for that once second (disgusting defending) we might have came away from one point. We didn't get totally hammered which was good, but I was begging and praying for the sucker punch that never came, and didn't look like it ever would.

Some good flashes of Boj, can't wait to see him at the beginning of next season after he looses a bit of weight. Elano had a okay game...He seemed to try a bit harder, and run just a little bit more, still needs to get stuck it too. Robinho's tracking back looks like he is doing it just for the sake of not looking lazy, I don't see the hunger in his eyes to catch and destroy his target (Granted this his not his game, but come on!), he just wants to run aside him so he can give him a little push like he does every single time! And is he ever going to play well in an away game?
Was SWP playing today? I could have sworn I saw his name on the team sheet in the beginning?!

What happened to our final ball? Those quick one two pinball passes I saw Ireland and Elano doing on Thursday, there was none of it.
It seemed like we were chasing them the whole game, we had some good moments of play but always seem to break down. Lucky it was 1-0!
Oh well, I look forward to seeing a good away performance on Thursday, lets hope we not get complacent, but our defense is looking pretty good at the moment.

P.S Not another bloody shoot out City!

I was embarrassed with that display, schoolboy errors not picking up Essien for there goal, and Robinho was a no show again.......

can i just remind most city fans here we were playing chelsea today. one of the best clubs in the world.
if it was against a poor premier league team i would understand these comments but with chelsea quality its hard to play the perfect pass or the flowing passing moves because they are such a quality side. We played very well in my eyes the attack wasnt great but that was because of how difficult it was to get to our strikers. would love to see bojinov start next game. elano had a great game first time i have ever seen him getting stuck in. defence was good and agree with most people in saying we really missed kompany and de jong. swp ended up in defensive midfield because of etuhu which was a shame as i dont rate etuhu. i thought after replacing elano with etuhu would put swp on left etuhu on right robinho free role it looked promising but didnt happen. we have got a long way to go but we are getting there few good signings in the summer and we will be looking very good for next season

yeah good post. couldnt agree more, normally on here avin moan at hughes, players, etc but feeling a bit positive hopefully for the future.

We lost because of one mistake and it cost us the game. However we did not get hammered so although I am dissapointed I am also pleased at that. I think Boijnov actually played the best as one of our strikers given the amount of time he had. Had atleast 3 good/decent chances. Ireland and Robinho created some too and I'm just dissapointed Caicedo couldn't get possible our best chance for a goal off. Our defence did well considering the score but we did have a few close calls which should not have happened. All in all we should have shown more hunger and we should have came away with a point.
