Apart from the obvious 'get more points than anyone else'?

The way I see it we're struggling. Really struggling.

We have 16 games left. To get the same points as last season we can only drop 7 points more. So we're looking at 13 wins, 2 draws and a loss. The loss cannot be against United and indeed we will probably have to win that game. There is also a feeling that, with RVP, 89 points might not be enough. IMO this is the worst United team I've seen in a long time but unfortunately they have the best, game winning player they've had in a long time too.

Anyway, our fixtures;

Fulham home
QPR away
Liverpool home
Southampton away
Chelsea home
Villa away
Wigan home
Everton away
Newcastle home
Utd away
WBA home
Spurs away
WHU home
Swans away
Reading away
Norwich home

Now we all know trying to predict what might happen in those 16 games is churlish. But what I do know is somewhere in that lot we have to win at least 13 and probably 14. If we start to play as we can then we can do it.

Looks very, very tough to me though.

We have four very winnable fixtures coming up before we face Chelsea. If we can in to that Chelsea match with confidence then anything can happen.

You're right we cannot afford to lose to united. I reckon Everton will be where the defeat will come from.

Win the derby and another 13 of the other 15. Should see us through.

send maicon out on loan to a prem club, we dont need him. when his club play the rags get him to snap the rapists knee in half. red card yeh and he'll be sent back in disgrace but so fucking what.

give him 1m for job done.

The cream has to rise to the top. Hopefully.

Arsenal were in a very similar position to this in 1998. They did it. We can do it. We just literally need to win 13 or 14 of the 16 games. It's not impossible. It will be difficult but we're not struggling, at all, we've won our last three and not conceded a goal in 2013. Look forward be positive; we can do it. If not, let's hope we can win the FA Cup and we can still celebrate. We may even win nowt but beat our points tally from last season, something to be positive about, dust ourselves down and go again next season with no panicking and no quick fire bullshit remarks about things being "not fucking good enough" (boo fucking hoo, you big girl's blouses!). People need to get used to falling short because we'll do it many times over the coming decades, this season might be one of those times but it also might not - the double is on - believe we can do it!

MCFC OK!

Good ideas, all.
