What would you do with £100k?

First speak to a professional (Financial Adviser) but if you want some advice from the good folk of Blue moon here's my 2 penneth... I wouldn't use it all to buy a house outright but put a decent deposit down and mortgage the rest and rent it out, as you have no mortgage you could get a mortgage against it (it's a bit sneeky but not a buy to let mortgage either just a normal one which isn't 100% cosher thing to do I know but who would know you were renting it)

There are mortgages specially for holiday rental properties, depending on age, usually interest only over a shorter period of time and lenders will find out, they check.

Micro investing to deserving people who would use a couple of grand or so to turn their life around in a small business. Maybe they just need enough cash for a few months to get settled. But they aren't seen as good safe bets by banks.
Take a limited share - once they pay back say a grand more than you invested then they're free from you, you use the profit again for somebody else.

That's my lottery winner plan.

This thread OP seems a bit boasty, if only 90% of the site could have a spare 100k lying around with the mortgage paid off and 1500 to fuck about with a month.

Well, that's my one day a week off ruined.
