What would your priorities be this summer?

Hart
Richards Kompany Hummels Clichy

Yaya Schweinsteiger

Silva Sneijder

Aguero Cavani

4-2-2-2

If we sell De Jong I'd like to see a replacement in the Pizarro/Yaya mould who can do great balls forward fast, I think with that our ability to break down these 10 man defenses would be much better. I'd also want this person to be young as I forsee them slowly taking over from Barry as he gets older, so he wouldn't need to be the finished article, we could mould him to our style.

I've thought about a truely fast winger but I wondered if this would disrupt our style too much and whether it would be better to just get like mentioned above someone who can create from the back more effectively. We can agree a large part of our problem is that our build up play has been slow lately, so the priority is really how we each think we can best solve that.

The other thing I'd like is to get rid of the waste, but I am quite certain Wayne Bridge just can't be sold and we are stuck with him until his contract is up.

1 experienced CB (Albiol should be OK) + 1 game-changer - winger (would kill for Muniain) + 1 striker (depends on Bobby's future but Tevez, Dzeko and Mario could leave this summer) + 1 experienced CM (Cambiasso?)

This is not a thread for names, so none of that "I want Hazard" stuff.

Interesting in hearing your priorities for improving our squad.

Here's mine in order from greatest to least:
[1] Shipping out the deadwood or those that may not have a long future here.
[2] A versatile winger or forward who: (A) can cross accurately from the flanks and/or (B) take a player on, beat him, and cut the ball back into the box.
[3] A CM/DM who can pass the ball forward quickly and accurately over distances of 40 yards+. Preferably one with good vision that can put a player through on goal.
[4] A world class centre half.

Why buy a winger if your CM is going to be hoofing balls 40 yards?

Are you Graham Taylor?

Perhaps so he can hoof it to the purchased winger :)

Sell the crap firstly

2 wingers, dont have to be messi/ronaldo just rapid, scores a few n has a decent end product
A world class CB to partner Kompany
Decent LB
A world class ST
Box to box all round 10 a season, assists etc...
Do that n we will be fine

If it's true that Milner and Johnson are likely to move on and Barry and Lescott have peaked, finding replacements to meet UEFA & PL criteria is going to be very difficult. The pool of home grown talent is small and costly and every PL club is chasing it. We are already three places short in our CL & EL squads because of the shortage of club trained talent.
Our own academy hasn't produced players likely to contest a first team place next season other than Guidetti, who is still very young. Boyata, Weiss, McGivern, Cunningham etc all look to be on their way out of the club pretty soon.
Recruiting some good young home grown players to join Joe and Micah should be a priority - Sturridge? Bale? - as I said the list of who would gain a place in our team on merit is very short - look at the England squad!
