Whats a hand ball these days.

to carry on the theme of post, what constitutes time wasting as I was getting pissed off with Ben Foster on Saturday. Also why did De Jong get booked for kicking the ball way and one of the Brum players not when he kicked if into the third tier when he was clearly off the pitch and the whistle had already gone.

Lets be fair now.It was his arm and he was lucky not to be sent off.We all saw it so do not be saying i did not see it,linesman did and flaged!

Right a bit different but looking at the Tevez goal that got disaloud for a handball or a offside. It was a harsh handball to be given against him. You look at some of the stuff that other teams have gotten away with. It is a harsh decision. Van Der Vaart at Spurs had gotten away with 2 howlers compared to Tevez and also the Henry incident this time last year. What are the rules it seems a joke to be called up for it. I think for a handball if it hit the arm from the elbow down to the hand it should be classed as a handball. Above the elbow to the shoulder it shouldnt be classed as a hand ball. It seems that with different refs you get away with more over some other refs.

handball is right up to the top of your arm, hence a clear handball. No complaints from me.

I know on numerous occasions, City players were complaining to the referee about it and from where I was sat, it looked like the referee said something along the lines of "I know"...eventually, Foster got warned but he did it again 4 or 5 times again and definately should've been booked during those times; although he should've been booked the 3rd or 4th time it happened! As for a yellow card kicking the ball away, there's no way to describe those situations as diabolical...De Jong kicked the ball away and got a yellow card which was fair enough! A Birmingham player boots the ball high into the air into the tiers after the ball was out of play and doesn't get a yellow card....STUPID!

I'm right in line with where the Tevez "handball" occurred as I sit in 109, I wasn't 1005 certain at the time but I was leaning more towards chest than arm, having seen replays I'm pretty sure it was chest rather than arm. What it certainly wasn't was deliberate handball and a booking.

agree.

I also sit in 109 and it looked like chest to me....also the linesman was viewing the incident from the back and the ref was behind/side on so couldn't see it..

we all thought the whistle went for offside...and so did the pundit on MOTD initially so proves it wasn't 'obvious'

what angers me is not the call, but the media saying it was a correct call, or implying that it was obviously, clearly a handball, as though to say Tevez is a cheat.

just another way to slur our team
Same here, the bell end on MoTD, made a clear point of it, despite replays showing it hit his chest.
