to carry on the theme of post, what constitutes time wasting as I was getting pissed off with Ben Foster on Saturday. Also why did De Jong get booked for kicking the ball way and one of the Brum players not when he kicked if into the third tier when he was clearly off the pitch and the whistle had already gone.

I know on numerous occasions, City players were complaining to the referee about it and from where I was sat, it looked like the referee said something along the lines of "I know"...eventually, Foster got warned but he did it again 4 or 5 times again and definately should've been booked during those times; although he should've been booked the 3rd or 4th time it happened! As for a yellow card kicking the ball away, there's no way to describe those situations as diabolical...De Jong kicked the ball away and got a yellow card which was fair enough! A Birmingham player boots the ball high into the air into the tiers after the ball was out of play and doesn't get a yellow card....STUPID!

The Foster time wasting was blatant as well...he was timewasting for most of the second half.

All we want as fans in consistency.....

utd also timewasted in the derby....every 15 mins or so some fucker was down...appalling really

what angers me is not the call, but the media saying it was a correct call, or implying that it was obviously, clearly a handball, as though to say Tevez is a cheat.

just another way to slur our team

What interests me is what would teh decision have been if the defender had done the same?

It's interesting to compare Carlos's perhaps he did, perhaps he didn't whisper and waft of a handball and associated booking, with the three clear pats on the bald head of the ball by Nani t'other week, who then gets up, kicks the ball in the net fer a goal. A goal and no booking. And folk say it's rough and smooth. When do we get some of the smooth and when do MANUre get some of the rough?

As far as I'm concerned handball is from the top of the shoulder to the fingertips, inside or outside of the arm. I didn't think it was an offence at the match but saw the replays later that night and had to agree with the refs call.

It's got to be below the shoulder.

-- Mon Nov 15, 2010 11:17 am --

It depends, if it's a city defender, red card and a penalty. Otherwise, play on.

It's funny, the commentators on the telecast I was watching done for ESPN in the States, Ian Darke and I don't know who, were adamant that it went in off his chest. They then figured that the goal must have been disallowed for offside.

Then they announced that the fourth official had just confirmed that it was disallowed for handball, not offside. They said that that clearly was a mistake because it obviously went in off his chest.

They showed the replay several ties and each time said "It clearly went in off his chest."

If you watch the replay the ball initially impacts his shoulder, but the ball then rolls down slightly onto his upper arm, Tevez leaves his arm in position (he could have attempted to move it away) and eases the ball into the net, handball simples.
