That, my friend is a Timeless Classic, it is the watch l have worn since 1981, just before the Falklands, l bought it for £84 with my first extra pay when l qualified as an Army Compressed Air Diver. lt and City, have remained a constant throughout my life.

In fact my ex bought me a hideous Omega watch costing a couple of K for my 40th and it made me realise that she didn't understand what made me tick (no pun intended) and how much l loved my old Seiko and all we had been through without it ever letting me down. So l offloaded her.

The original rubber strap perishes and l have replaced it a dozen times along with the battery.

Cool :) I always look for durability 1st in a watch, It needs to take anything I can throw at it. I've always liked Seiko, as they are quality, and not overly expensive (compared to Omega, Tag, etc)

I hope I have mine as long as yours, as it's a great watch.

had a seiko myself since1979 wear it every day in construction/engineering work bit like "triggers brush "couple of new straps, new glass, batterys same watch, have a nice seiko for best aswell

Ive got marvellous taste havent i.... ;-p

Quite reassuring the amount of lads who received watches as engagement presents instead of a ring - I fall into that categoury!!

My wife bought me a top adidas watch as an engagement present, tho I rarely wear it these days as my wrist has got fatter with ale.... I mean age!!

A (female) friend of mine is banging on about a new phenomenon called "toy watches"

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.toywatchusa.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.toywatchusa.com</a>

But I cannot see the appeal there - especially as Paris Hilton wears one!!

I can't wear a watch, I'm not alergic or anything, I just dislike anything around my wrists. it bugs me, same with pretty much all other jewelry aswell. I don't mind rings, but everything else irritates me.
