What's the nicest part of Manchester...

anything between town and Didsbury is dodgy, anything north of town is perfect location for an apocalyptic sci-fi hollywood film.

there's a reason there's a ring road, so you can drive round it.

Thats abit harsh. As someone born and raised in Blackley and Cheetham Hill, i can tell you that North Manchester has some lovely, erm,erm..

Boggart Hole Clough and Heaton Park?

I was raised in Middleton. Alkrington is a nice part. Then there's Prestwich, too.

Bullshit. It's not bad now.

Has a Surestart and everything.
Is chicken george still open?

I lived around the corner from it. He was found dead in the flat above it a few years back, and it still wasnt open after i left the area about 18 months ago.
McTucky's on the Stockport Road has long gone as well **wistful sigh**. Had a drunken 1am conversation with Michel Vonk in there one Saturday night. Also in the same queue was Manc rapper MC Buzz B, who was recording at Moonraker studios round the corner

If you look at Manchester on a map, draw a horizontal line through the city center. Everything North of the line you should rule out. Some people on here will big up where they live, but I'm being honest with you. North Manchester is a dump. The good places south of the City are Didsbury, West Didsbury, Altrincham, Sale, Hale, Bowdon, Lymm, Wilmslow, Bramhall, Poynton, Macclesfield, Alderly Edge, Marple and Glossop.

Probably the best course of action.
Isn't it Gorse Hill/Trafford Precinct overspill?

On the face of it, Urmston looks nice with it's tree lines streets and Victorian buildings, but you can't open your windows on a warm day due to the smell of shit from the Davyhulme sewage works. So for most people this would be an issue.

serious question.... as a utd fan do you not know? ;)
Considering there are hardly any of the same answers, I'd say that most people do not "know".

It was a sad day for Longsight when McTucky's closed down. At least we still have Chicken Hut.

There was a Pizza King near Crowcroft Park, but that got closed down thanks to the food standards nazis. Some great bastardised names of take-aways round here.
