My missus (gf) fell out with me because i went out with my mates for a game of footy even when i couldnt have seen her, she was away with her parents.

I had a conversation with my step brother regarding a similar situation in the pub the other day. We came to the conclusion they just want to know you are at home on the sofa for some reason, regardless. If any female posters could give us some insight for this I would be great full.
