What's Your Favourite Tournament?

For me in tournaments such as the WC and EC it falls down to where is the tournament being held?
if it's in a country I like to visit and are England doing ok?

Same with the League/FA Cup's as wel... Who we're playing??
if we draw Liverpool in the cup I'd be bored as I've visited Anfield many times and we play them 2x a season anyway, but if we say drew Leeds then I'd like a trip to Elland rd as i've not been for ages.

1) Premier League. great football to watch, very unpredictable with results like us losing against Burnley and so on.
2) Europa League - Boring as shit but when in the competition the away trips are quality, and i find it interesting playing clubs i've sometimes never heard of.
3) Championship - very high standard considering it's the second tier of the English league and again the unpredictability of it is great.
4) World Cup - hosted in a country I like and if England have qualified.
5) European Champ. - Same as above.
6) Champs League. - boring predictable shit. the atmosphere is usually shit with it packed by tourists.... I'd rather watch the EDS matches.

It must sound weird but I'm not a massive fan of the champions league at all. I want Spurs to be in the competition (I enjoyed the last run) but I find it very boring these days and overhyped. The Europa just seems a joke to me.

I don't get excited much for the world cup but seem to enjoy the Euro a lot more

As for the domestic game, my favourite is the FA cup, that probably makes me sound a bit nostalgic rather than some of the stuff they put on show these days. I think the dissapointment of 87 cup final and then watching Gazza in 91 just was amazing, but the worst part is I thought I'd see a lot more FA cup wins after that. Although that is my favourite competition, I'd want to win the league the most, you have to have that consistency over the season and I don't believe luck can carry you all the way. The only thing I don't like about the premier league is that you get told every other week it's the best league in the world, the absurd wages and talk of the top 4 of being the holy grail. As for the league cup, it's considered a joke but I don't mind the thing too much, if you lose you can call it a mickey mouse cup, if you win it's a medal!

So what's your favourite competition overall? Your favourite in the domestic game, Europe and international?!

Unfortunately financially it has now become the be all and end all to finish and qualify for the Champions League and also to attract players who deem it not good enough playing for a team not in the Champions League.

Personally my favourite is still the FA Cup. Winning the FA Cup on hopefully a sunny day out at Wembley is the best.

It can only be bettered by winning the league in dramatic fashion on the final day of a season, and if we were to win the league many times more it would be difficult to top the QPR game ever again.

Thus an FA Cup Final on a pleasant day in May, and a win of course, tops all else.

FA Cup then Premier League.

There's nowt better in this sport than a trip to Wembley, then there's only a trip to Wembley better than 7000 Blues in an away end at £20/ticket in the third round when everyone's got their new coats on they got just got for Christmas and are all in good spirits. I love the FA Cup. Giant killings, playing teams you don't play every year, different songs, different days out...the best competition, for sure!

Premier League is great too. It's why I renew my SeasonCard year-on-year and it's the most important competition, for sure!

FL Cup, shite until the semis, but the two-legged semis and a Wembley final are absolutely brilliant!

The CL..I just don't care about it. I hate all the diving, feigning injury, flapping and running around when the ball's not kicked out when some cheating cûnt hits the deck again, appalling refs who fall for all the cheating, cynical foul after cynical foul, games are pretty boring as they're just stop-start-stop-start-stop with a bit of football breaking out every now again again. The football just isn't the same kind of sport as we play in England. I MUCH prefer our version of the game. Across Europe amazing footballers are just wasted in a different version of this sport that is nowhere near as good as the English game. [not a CL game but it's the same in that comp] I switched Barça v Madrid off last month because I couldn't watch anymore of the diving and fouling and a ref who couldn't handle the game. Watching a lot of continental games makes me feel like I do as a Rugby League fan watching a game of union - it's just not the way I like the code played, and in football I just don't get half the shit that goes on in the continental game and I fucking hate how some of it has crept into the English game over the years and wish it would get the fuck out!
Then there's the fucking flight companies doubling flight prices as soon as round draws are made and they see certain clubs' fans would have a trip to a certain city. That's a disgrace too!
Then there's the fucking crowds...tourists and away fans everywhere, hundreds of "fans" in the home end falling over seats to get a video of CRonaldo or whoever else warming up while nobody is over by the City lads videoing/taking pictures of our lads, appalling atmospheres, SeasonCard holders fucked off out of their seats for UEFA and sponsors...UTTER UTTER SHITE!
I just don't care about the comp and I have tried and I'm giving this season one more go (as in entering the scheme) just to see if I change my mind but if I don't I won't be entering the CL Cup Scheme from the season after onwards.

I'd go as far to say that I almost prefer the Europa League because it's not so overhyped to the point where it's transparency is sickening like the CL. I can see right through the CL hype, all it is, is a money making tournament. That's it!

I do really like the World Cup and European Championships. Loads of time spent in the pub in the warmest time of the year, the regularity of games, putting bets on with mates/family...it's always enjoyable.

European championships, although that may change with the new format.
Premier League at club level, the one that hurts the most if you're not in it :)

I just love all football especially the business end of the season where you have the title run ins, playoffs, latter rounds of the champions league, FA cup final etc. it's even better when it's a World Cup year.

Last year was absolutely perfect to go in to the World Cup having seen us win the league.

I always want to win the PL the most because it's the true measure of a team but the FA Cup is my favourite.

The FA have done everything they can to trash it but there's still that little bit of magic about it that you don't
get with any other competition. I can only image (for now!) what it must feel like at the final whistle at Wembley
if you've won it and have already collected the PL the week before. The stuff of dreams.
