Whats your mood regarding City right now?

Love it won a trophy, looking good for best ever effort in champions league, still in title race with 11 games to go and best manager in the world taking over next season. Just need ged brannan and Gerry creaney to come back into the fold! Oh shit sorry just had a flash back to when we had nothing to moan about

I agree we still are in with a shout. Despite the win at Wembley - I felt flat / empty and deflated last night driving home from Anfield, especially after seeing the other results. For the first time in ages I was angry at having paid £52 for my ticket + my sons ticket + travel etc..... I am not sure why I felt this because watching football as a hobby is an expensive pass time. A number of people I know who have gone for years have made similar comments to me. Some even deciding not to go to forthcoming games when they have gone for years to every game. I am not sure if this feeling is broader in the away fan regulars but its a reflection of the mood with quite a lot of people I know. Anyone else have a view ?

I recall having a similar conversation with you at Sunderland last season mate, and for the same reason, I didn’t attend last night.

Some of it is down to age, but even at Wembley, I found myself counting the cost, and justifying everything, because at the end of the day, we won.

Awaydays just aren’t the same, and every defeat is like a dagger through the heart. Funny, because when we were shite, some my favourite ever games were drubbings at Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea. I was there at York, and still smile at the drunken memories of a 5-1 defeat at Fulham in 84, the march to Millwall in 87, the 6-0 defeat at the Baseball Ground, the 4-0 home defeat to Sunderland, the 4-1 collapse at Grimsby, and the countless "Swales Out" demonstrations.

Also, there’s a growing drug culture, not just at City, but definitely becoming a major concern. It’s being ignored, and anybody who dared even hint of intimidation at West Brom, Burnley, or Palace last season was instantly slaughtered on this forum.

As for the tempo we look slow and passionless, and it’s been creeping into our style, from as far back as the Wembley victory over Sunderland, when two fantastic strikes camouflaged our overall lethargy. Yes, we finished Champions, but even at Goodison, we took our foot off the gas, and almost threw away victory against disinterested opponents.

This isn’t the worst ever City team, but it’s the most expensive. I’ve seen around 1200 games, and had some great times, but frankly my enjoyment levels are diminishing rapidly.

I feel a strange maelstrom of frustration, sadness, anger, relief (for having won something) and hope (for Pep's arrival).

Yesterday was a bit like being punched in the dick after pulling a stunner a couple of nights before.

Bingo. You're not allowed to mention the past on here but I just think back to 2007-2009 and me still thinking at that point I'd never see us win anything.

The love the club and am as enthusiastic as I ever was.

Overall, when you look at the club in the round, it's been a pretty good season: new stand, academy starting to produce, Pep on his way and a cup win. All positives.

Our league return so far is disappointing, but hardly catastrophic.

Some posters too readily use 'York away' as a footballing palliative, but at the other end of the scale are those who have lost all sense of perspective of the routine vicissitudes of being a football supporter. Even if we finish sixth, it's still been good fun for me - won plenty of games, couple of decent cup runs, had a great time watching City in Europe, made a few new friends who share my passion for the blues. It's all good.

I feel truly blessed that as a recalcitrant seven year old I decided to give my old man the two fingers and follow my destiny, despite the numerous tests that were placed in my way along the road.

So, overall my mood towards City is still hugely positive. I've been privileged to bear witness to the most amazing sporting journey over the last 40 years. How could my mood ever be badly disposed towards something that has defined and enriched my life so much?

What a fucking ride.
Bravo. Win, lose or draw - enjoy the ride and don't take things so seriously.

And that's the city I loved and knew not so long ago...

This. It's a blast from the past at the moment. Should have been hammering Liverpool at Wembley to only miss loads of chances, going 1-0 down on penalties for our reserve keeper to pull us out of the shit.

Then playing them 3 days later and getting hammered.

The only difference is we've won something this time and played at Wembley. It still feels so much like typical City though and the club I fell in love with.

I hope it doesn't go on too long and we gain consistentcy soon but whilst it's here, it offers a nostalgic reminder that we've no devine right to win and City will always fuck up from time to time.

Feel like a tired cheap hunted by bloodthirsty dogs named rag and kop, luckily the third dog abra is on the other side of the fence. ....

My daughter is 13 and adores City. As far as I can figure, she is the fifth generation of my family able to say that.

What is my mood toward City, then? No different than it always is and always will be.

As to this season? Like all others it shall pass.

I turn my computer on, log on the game's video stream with nerves on edge.
Too many games for my likeing I've ended up switching the computer off at the end of the game fuming - at either a shit performance or the incompetence of officials which have / potentially cost us points.
Just give me consistent 100% effort every game and sensible team selections / substitutions.
