Whats your mood regarding City right now?

its not easy to win this league, it really isn't.... but when the 3 teams (chelsea, liverpool and utd) that we have had to battle for top spot with over the last 3 years have now imploded, we should be standing at the top of the league looking down at everyone else far below us. that we are indeed looking up to 3 teams that haven't won the league for quite some time (and in 1 case never won it) tells everything about how this season has disappointed.
to be so abject and clueless in our displays (injuries or not) is the most damning aspect.
any player or team can be motivated, its the easiest thing to do, even i can be motivated on a football field. the hardest thing in this game is having the talent. i don't have the talent, but our players do. we have talent in abundance but for some reason not motivation or direction.
and that gents is the mood i'm in, pure frustrated disappointment!!

Everyone knows that agents talk and are privy to information that we're not.
I'm wondering if some of them have been told privately to start finding another club for their player.

slightly worried but overall extremely positive... it's not the 80's anymore, things will get sorted, we've got the best of everything owners, management, stadium, manager to be... etc

thats all relevant after the season ends. not much the owners can do to save this season, its down to the players and manuel

Utter frustration..I have watched City for 5 decades .I've seen us have one very short period of dominance in that time. Now we should be ruling the EPL and to so under achieve in the past 2 years is criminal mismanagement. If the project is to create a global brand that has to be built on sustained success not stuttering failure. We've wasted 2 years. Lets hope Mrs Pep doesn't decide M/cr is a shithole and drags him back to the Continent after 1 season because you can bet we will have no plan B.

Optimistic.

Yesterday we were robbed by the referee. Pellegrini had a clear plan, set us up to be solid defensively and hit them on the counter, knowing that Spurs love to swarm everywhere and come out of the blocks fast.

We defended fantastically for the first half, where they had 3 shots (all from outside the box, 1 on target) total.

Then after the game plan was ruined by a bullshit penalty, Pellegrini went on the attack and we actually dominated Spurs for the majority of the second half, exerting constant pressure.

Three things cost us that game.

1 - Clattenburg

2 - Finishing - Aguero's finishing was awful for once, he missed 3 opportunities that you'd normally bet your house on him scoring, Otamendi had a good header he should have buried, Silva should have buried his last minute chance. It's not really "finishing" but you could also add in Yaya's inability to find the last pass in several counter attacks in the first half.

3- Pellegrini bringing on Kolarov after the equaliser. We didn't need to make a change, things were going in our favour, and ultimately Kolarov not following Eriksen is the reason we conceded the second goal.

If we play like we did yesterday in every game for the rest of the season, we'll likely win the league, because the other teams will slip up, the referees won't fuck us in every game, and Aguero doesn't have many off days.

The defence was transformed with Kompany and Clichy in the team, and Fernando-Fernandinho giving real cover. With a solid defence, the attack will largely take care of itself.

So because of all the above, I'm cautiously optimistic.

I have been really down since the result and needed a lift . This analysis has made me feel better . We will press on from here after all we are exactly the same number of points off the top as we were last week . Lots to play for and if Vinny stays fit we will get more and more difficult to beat .

Defiant. I've been increasingly defiant over the last week but I will have no effect on anything but my own blood pressure! I was pleased, however, to "feel" the defiance of the team and each player growing as the injustice of the penalty sank in and I feel that it will do them all good if they start to play at the tempo they played the last half hour.

Agree with pretty much all of this, although I doubt my levels of optimism will extend as far as yours. I'm optimistic again that we will beat Liverpool in the cup final and that we'll probably be ok for the top 4 and hopefully the top 3, but I can't see us getting much better than that sadly.

Superb post as I too thought the defence looked great until we equalised. Dead right about finishing we once again had 19 attempts with only 4 on target - this has been a familiar pattern for weeks. The sub was a totally unnecessary change that was ill conceived. I was mad that even though he had Kolarov ready he didn't seem to have the confidence to say " ok we just scored, sit back down Alex, let's see how this pans out for ten minutes." we had them for the taking at that moment and wasted it.

Just about as low as I've ever felt - this Pellegrini era feels worse than the turgid Pearce period to me. Obviously results are better overall but it just feels like we've wasted such a huge opportunity to win trophies and really make a name for ourselves.

The sooner we see the back of this holistic nonsense and get back top having a manager who's got a bit of a nutter in him (Keegan, Mancini, Pep?) the better.
