what's your pro-Hughes rating?

About 25% for me. never will we get an easier chance to get in Chumps league and at the same time send the dippers into the doldrums. MH is a decent manager in some aspects and will no doubt do well in the end, but i think, like others have said, we need to capitalise quickly or the owner may lose interest. Therefore we havent got time for him to learn on the job - at the level we are talking about he is an apprentice. I started the season thinking 'lets see where we are at xmas' and now i'm worried that if the gap gets much bigger it will be too late for anyone to claw it back by then.

66%. I really really want him to do well but he needs to turn it round quick. Spurs are going to be pushing for the top 4 this year and liverpool will regain some form. Plus you cant rule out villa and everton so its going to be close. I know people say the target is top 6 this yaer but i think its absolutley crucial we finish top 4 otherwise we arnt going to be able to get the top players in and especially with a world cup coming up all the top players are going to have a few clubs after them so we have to be able to offer what they can plus the money. Well anyway i hope hughes does the job.

100%, He's the manager of Manchester City, doesn't matter who you are, I back them 100% while their in the job.

Change this to the "What do you understand about the real world of football Management and ownership?" and the percentages look about right.

100%

;-)

(only about 85% really)

50%. Has bought well but seems to have no idea on how to utilize those players effectively and even more worryingly doesn't seem to be learning.

Personally I believe that, just as with players, you should try to get the best manager that is available/interested. So, if Hiddink/Mourinho or any other top class manager was available and interested, I would replace Hughes. If not, then i would stick with him until we can get better.

The squad he has assembled is top class, and off the pictch he is doing great.
We are having a bad patch at the moment but we are still picking up points which is good.

NOTE: Its not his fault if the defense switch off, hes not on the pitch with them
No but these individual errors have been a staple of our defensive play consistently for the last 2 season. It's amateur.

I'm around 35% anyway. Not convinced as he hasn't shown me anything on the pitch. Nothing in our play suggests he or his coaching staff are having a positive influence on the pitch. Actually, maybe with the exception of attacking set pieces.

I don't think he's perfect, but I don't know any manager that is. For me, we're moving in the right direction. There are things that frustrate me and I think we can be more positive at times (e.g. first half at Anfield) and take games against smaller teams (e.g. Burnley) by the scruff of the neck, but I think that will come as Hughes and the players self-belief and confidence grows. I think he has a lot of qualities and can bring us success if given time, support and patience.

Last season? 65%

This season? About 90% - mistakes here and there but one huge positive no one can argue with - he's going all out for the competition we've got the most realistic chance of winning when it would've been easy to gamble and rest players in it - the League Cup.
