When Is The Club Going To Stop Selling Tickets In The Home End To Away Fans?

I’ve no idea if the Directors care or not. I recall
Bill and Sheila and others used to say Danny Wilson was responsive and caring and gave examples to support their view:

My Mum recently passed away and we got a message of condolences from Soriano’s sister (whose an Executive at Nike). She and r kid exchange messages on social media and she has expressed an interest in our OSC Branch.

I had a good build up to the match, drinking with Feyenord’s supporters club. We had met them over the years through a link up with 1894 in Rotterdam. I support the idea of getting netting up between the away end and our home stands to prevent missiles hitting Blues.

Some fans in the home end took the piss but it was hardly the 70s or 80s again.
SERIOUSLY.....

Moving the away fans from elevated areas down to pitch level will alieviate incidents of objects being launched down on to innocent fans.

It will provide City fans with a genuine home end, improve the atmosphere, increase capacity, cost little and not compromise segregation, security coach park logistics, sightlines or H&S.

lt should be introduced for 25/26 season

Two ends are better than one !!

The bloke from Brum confirmed the kids from his school paid for tickets (he didn't say how much) so the freebie stuff is nonsense. They should have been warned about taking the piss, such as by chanting "Rooney, Rooney", and warned they'd be going home before the game if it occurred.
But it was a CL game, the most prestigious club competition in the world (even though many City fans prefer the Prem), and we should have been doing far more to encourage actual City fans to attend.

Why would kids from Brum pay for tickets to watch us? Maybe the club provides them free of charge but the school ask a fee towards their school fund or something? I am not sure it's nonsense the club are providing free tickets to schools, I'm sure it's already been confirmed that this is the case.

I agree. SS1 and Kippax corner is the best place to put away fans when NS3 is completed.

47011, over 3000 less than Sparta, and more away fans
Maybe if the ticket prices had been cheaper, it would have been a full house, less away fans in the home ends and more fans buying drinks, food, etc and the club would have had plenty of positive PR. By all accounts there were around 4k away fans in total so only around 43k City fans. That's around 7k less home fans than there could have been so around 15% of capacity. Surely it's better to have 100 fans paying £20 each than 25 fans paying £50? If we end up in a playoff for the CL last 16 what sort of price are they going to charge if we end up playing Madrid or PSG?

Whilst agreeing with the vast majority of posts there seems to be two separate debates that morph into one

Firstly, City's average attendance has never been so high and has virtually doubled in the last 25 years.
Some reasons are less subtle than others, but it's undeniable that many fans are benefiting from cheap season tickets that allow them to miss 3-4 games (usually the early kick offs) and still provide good value.
It's frustrating for those blues who are prickly about any suggestion of empty seats, but long term it's building the next hardcore fanbase.

Completely different story for the Champions League and cost is only a small part
The Etihad has now experienced 84 European fixtures and discounting the 7 COVID games I'm 77/77

However, I've got mates who were Season Ticket holders in 87-88 (when City averaged less than 20,000) and are still Etihad regulars, but wouldn't go to a Champions League game even if it only cost £10.
Its impossible to overstate the stress of driving through horrendous traffic for a midweek fixture, especially in late November for an 8pm kick off when the weather's shite, and you've also got a midweek PL fixture the following Wednesday
Our staunchest demographic are simply ageing and can't be arsed.

In fairness the club are trying to do something and I can happily report that Matchday Bus 7 provided a fantastic hassle free service for the Feyenoord game and I got home at a reasonable time

Subsequently (and not helped by the new format guaranteeing an extra home game) our progress on the pitch has been quicker than the demand for tickets from our traditional hardcore.

Hopefully this will slowly change but in the meantime we're just going to have to stomach the current farce of non City fans in attendance especially when United suffered far worse last season.

See bluebarry's post on page 28. He spoke to kids from his school and confirmed the kids or the school paid for their tickets.
Personally I'd sooner see free tickets to schools in the north west, rather than paid tickets for schools miles away as those kids are less likely to be regular supporters in the future.

I agree mate but it’s not bad if the payment is say a fiver per student.

I think there’s also a role for parents with kids in schools to encourage teachers to request the discount red tickets from City. I know some parents and teachers will already be doing this.

There are steward debriefs after every match. There will be incident reports. Do those incident reports get to boardroom level? Are they discussed? Do the directors sat in the directors box in the Colin Bell stand not see what is going on around them and inside the ground with their own eyes? Away fans all over the ground in the home ends.
The directors aren't City fans and neither will be most of the people sat close to them, from the away team, City/CFG employees and freeloaders.

The statement from Joel Glazer on the MCFC website summed up their sensibilities regarding fans.

Not related to all games but as in cup ones, we all knew there'd be loads of Dutch coming over...just shove them all in SS3. That'd keep them mainly together, it's not as though we were going to sell out.
