When Is The Club Going To Stop Selling Tickets In The Home End To Away Fans?

As well as representing their own club, at least they were there to support City, jumping up when we scored.

It’s the fans of the opposition that we all see all too often (sometimes they’re just fans of one opposition player like the two Mo Salah fans sat in front of me when we played Liverpool last season), it’s these sort of twats who are actively wanting City to lose, and there are fucking far too many of them at our big games.
Had a great trip to FC Twente in 1976 i think it was in the UEFA cup. Combined it with a couple of nights in Amsterdam a combination of Heineken and space cake make my memories of the trip very vague. Was 20 then 68 now where the f**k did the years go. Remember loads of City made the trip, euro trips rare in those days.

I had a similar experience at Anfield also. I actually did behave myself. Got found out when I didn't jump up and cheer when they were awarded a penalty and scored it. Five minutes later I was escorted out by two stewards, who told me "it was for my own good". Had to walk around the ground and got booted out via the Shankly gates.

That's always the giveaway. That and not joining in with chants and roaring the home team on when they attack. I've had one or two away fans near me in the south stand on occasion. No problem as they kept quiet. A few fucked off at half time though if they were getting tonked.

Emailed city about this today and typically they passed the book.

Fan Support (Man City)

24 Sept 2024, 09:21 BST

Good morning,

The problem with away fans in home areas isn't a Club specific issue. Unfortunately, supporters who are permitted to purchase home tickets sell them on. This can result in away supporters being in possession of tickets for home areas.

The ticket Terms and Conditions are clear, in that no away fan is allowed to utilise a home match ticket. Stewards actively engage and eject those supporters who contravene this, and we look to take further action against those ticket holders when they are identified.

If you see away supporters during the game in home areas, please make a member of staff aware. If you are unable to do this, then you can reach out after the game via this email or touting@mancity.com.

Kind regards,

A nonsense answer from the ticket compliance manager this

The club absolutely sells tickets to away fans in our end ie the tunnel club

They also flogged the 2023 community shield tickets to anyone when the boycott kicked in which meant thousands of non City fans in our end that day

A lad next to us in the pub on Sunday bought a ticket off a third party site ( Live tickets, I think it was called ) at about 3 pm, for less than face value, even taking into account the fees.

They were still advertising 441 tickets at 3.50 pm and that must have been the cut off point as it suddenly dropped to zero available.

Of course they may not have actually had 441 tickets in hand. All I know for a fact is that they had one. But it’s a strange carry on all the same. They’re not suddenly going to be able to source tickets they haven’t got an hour before kick off I wouldn’t have thought.

And that’s just one of many websites selling tickets.

Was in SS1 116 last night. The FC Twente fans near me were sound enough, but a row of them turned at the end of the match as they didn't take kindly to being asked to move so others could exit to the ailes. They were defo looking fir a spark

The ones in my block were pointing and laughing between themselves at early leavers, as if to say ‘*nudge* look at them there, where the fuck are they off?’

I think leaving a game early is weird to fans in other leagues.

The fc twenty fans in front of us all left 5 mins before the end.

Ones near me were a bunch of dicks. Stereotype Dutch behaviour. Arrogant and too cocky for their own good.

Giving a young female steward a load of shit for stopping them taking beer back to their seats after half time, amongst other things.

Was a pity it wasn’t the usual league crowd knocking about, or they would have probably been taught some manners. But I couldn’t be arsed going on some solo suicide mission.

' 78 first round? Followed by the humbling of AC Milan in the third; that was going to be our year till Alan Simonsens lot pissed on our chips and broke my young heart. Still we'll be back next year I thought. The next few decades knocked that sense of entitlement out of me!
