When many of the council estate pubs disappeared

Apologies, cant post links using this browser, and don't know if its been linked in any other threads, but I watched a video before on youtube called " Beautifully ugly - the last estate pubs of Manchester".

Perhaps someone would be kind enough to link to it, if it hasn't already been shared.
 
I see the ugly but struggle to see the beauty. I guess you'd have to be part of that community.
Like everything else from that architectural era - functional. Once you are inside with a pint and your mates it doesn't matter that the outside is a concrete cube surrounded by graffiti and dog shit.
 
I am from Hollin as a kid - Red Lion went yonks ago - shame lovely pint of Bod's - took a drive round Langley in the summer when visiting relatives - decimated - there were loads of pubs on Langley I get why they have gone but FFS the ghosts of many a good night out have been bulldozed - a. few of my mates got together with partners in places like the New Broom - sad
 
That 1st Boozer. Someone posted a pic of it to Facebook memories group a while ago. Stirred up a bad memory for one fella who commented he got stabbed in there one night.... wearing a brand new that day tshirt that cost him £50!

50 quid in the 90s though so I don't blame him for being more peed off than the blood he lost
