Pfft don't you come the 'I had it tough when I was a kid' stuff. My estate was that hard someone even stole the alsation.
I had it alright, there was nice run of decent old boozers on the old rd that have all sadly gone now bar the Lord Raglan, and then th epubs in gorton and on hyde road.
Nearest flat top boozer was probably in Bradford or Longsight
My grandad used to run the Crown Inn on the Old Road and before that the Apollo in Miles Platting. The Crown has long since gone but they did indeed have a flat roof veranda with Alsation. The Grove across Club St had two Rotweilers. Last time I drove past the Grove was still there but was a while ago.
A garage near me has an alsatian and a rotti on its roofGenuinely saw a tweet this morning of the above picture and wondered where they went, I forgot most on here are from the more poncy parts of south manchester / cheshire and never been in an estate pub in their life, but knew a few inner city ruffians and scallywags still post here and may be able to help with my ponderings
