When will City pass Utd's revenue?

They include cash paid in prize money at the end of the season to get 301M. The 65M yearly reduction will be an increase in prize money or changes in exchange rates (probably a bit of both).
They will be paying just as much in interest payments as last season.
OK.

Do you know what the US principal is? I know of a 12 year borrowing of $425 paying 3.79% interest. Is that it plus short term borrowing? Seems to me that the debt mountain is behind them

It'll take a long time for them to falter financially IMO. United is a part of cultural to huge numbers of men and boys. Same as Barca and Real and in Ireland Celtic. It'll change financially imo after it changes culturally. It's well underway but will take a long time and could easily falter if City don't keep coming out on top on the pitch.

It's probably more evident outside of England where kids pick their clubs based on many factors. Used to be mostly a combo of either Barca or Real and either united or Chelsea or Liverpool or Arsenal. All the English teams probably more likely that not because their dads supported them or their friends. Now it's mostly City. It's killing red dads :-) We need to represent all that's good in the game for 5+ years imo to complete this takeover and when we do it'll be hard to shake us off. Just as it has been for united to fade.

The revenues are only a byproduct of the cultural stature of the clu imo.

This, people, is what we call a raggy thread. I would expect this on ragcafe, come on guys.

Who is the biggest club? Seriously who cares. As long as we are the best on the pitch does anyone, apart from the people within the club that are paid to care, really give a shit if we have more or less commercial revenue that United?
Cuckoo! David Silva is paid in cash. Our title winning side did not come from the Academy (and even that costs money).

I don't care when the game kicks off, but stand back a bit, and you realise that what you see on the pitch is a reflection of money in the bank, and vice versa. The two feed into each other. It's post season. What else do you want to talk about. Liverpool beating Real Madrid?

I'm quite aware of how the world works Marvin. I didn't think Silva is reimbursed for his services with photos of Moonbeam.

There's actually an interesting debate over football finances and revenue streams. However you worded the whole thread around being the 'biggest' and 'overtaking' United. You even said this "The only objective way of measuring the size of a football club is through footballing revenue because that is what delivers football on the pitch." Look at Atletico. Look at Leicester.

If you want to talk about the financial side of the game then go ahead, I'll even chip in, like I said above it's interesting, but I hope to god we never become a club that talks about being the biggest and gloating about our commercial revenue or our new sponsorship deals.

And if people crave for us to have the largest revenue then don't complain about ticket price increases.

As you all know I always like to dig around the interweb looking for the reports behind the headlines.

KPMG have just released their Football Clubs’ Valuation: The European Elite 2018 report.

United top it. No surprises there.

I've taken some screen grabs. And the link to the full PDF report is below. Loads of interesting data.

As for City, we seem to have cemented 5th place behind Bayern. Aresenal are 't far behind us though.

I don't know the details of how the debt is structured.
The important part of what they reported is "The gross USD debt principal remains unchanged."

Our revenue may continue to exceed Liverpool and may catch Utd and that's good for us financially.
But i don't think there's any chance of us becoming a "bigger" club than Utd (or Liverpool). And I don't much want us to.

not interested in Utd. They are spent for the next few years. Barca/RM/BM are the ones to beat. And Liverpool in future.

Utd (unless Mourinho pulls a blinder next season) are on their way down to Arsenal levels, lots of "value" and fans but no real substance.
