Sometimes we see half hearted attempts at the classic poznan, however the patches of people brave enough to do it soon think best to turn around and chant "city city city"...nothing close to the original run of the poznan back in 2011.
When the original poznan at city was taking off, it was a brilliant thing to behold. I felt it was like a beautiful show of defiance against everything the football fan of the time thougut was his enemy - i thought it highlighted the difference between what the crowd believed abd thought possible and what actually happened weeek in week out including all the controversies and snide media agendas.
However the most important thing about the poznan was...... it was great fun. A sense of mischevious rebellion and childishness was shared by all, young and old, prawn sandwich brigade and hardcore away followers.
The poznan came to a brilliant climax against united in the fa cup semi-final. Pre-organised to turn our backs on the united players as their names were announced over the tannoy, it showed our support of course but it also highlighted what the fans can bring to big moments in football and how important a part the spectators are for all the teams.
