Where can I find oil drums?

I made a thread on this not long ago. Mine is all made now, looks the dogs bollocks mate. Sprayed it Matt Black to finish it off. The stand is made of wood and ive got myself a stainless steel grill for cooking.

Hi guys.
It looks like we are going to have a good summer ahead of us, which obviously means its going to be barbecue weather.
So I have decided to throw out my old barbecue and MAKE one from a metal oil drum (my old man used to have one, it was ace)
I'm fully aware that you can buy ready made ones but I want to make one myself because I have some spare time on my hands

... Only problem is, I can't find anywhere that has/sells oil drums

Help

Can you post the instructions so we can all build one together, that would be really nice

Sounds mint! Think I'm going to make a metal stand though. Got a few rods spare in my garage

look out for "pallets and drums wanted", on industrial estates.

the fully-open-top type of drum is best for upright ovens, with a stainless washing-machine drum as a fire-basket and a lid from an old weber (same diameter) has a built-in vent for temp control

Horizontal drums with a section hinged for access are ok for burgers but can distort rapidly and need a stand.

light-weight breeze block is an alternative to drums, expanded metal tread-plate for the grill, two instant barbecues on a shelf below.

google "barbecues" for some amazing ideas from the US and OZ

Blagdens packaging in old trafford actually makes the big drums.

Ah, the memories. Getting pelted with dog shit and bottles at the Moss Side Carnival after our medley, "The Fall — best of the B-sides, 1979-85" failed to win over the audience
