To cries of you don't know what you're doing?

Nearly as bad. August 1974 in the Social club at a Supporters Club function!
Down on one knee, the full monty. (OK, so I was pissed), but confirmed on the Saturday after when I next saw her/was sober.

Together 6 weeks short of 35 years, with 2 (adopted) daughters, now aged 31 & 27, until she died in my arms 3 years ago. The 35 year anniversary is Coral, so I was planning to take her to, you've guessed it, the bookies of the same name to put on a bet!!

never got around to proposing myself but been on the recieving end of four (which i'm surprised at in retrospect, i'm not that special)

first one was in a local restaurant with champagne when i was 18. said yes but didn't marry him - emerald surrounded by diamonds

second one was in york when we were students. said yes again bit too skint for ring...

third time was in a pub in town when i was 23. bloke i used to work with, was 10 years older than me. said no, then ran for the hills. he was boyfriend material not marriage.

fourth time was mr bg74. asked me when we were both drunk. had no memory of it for 48 hours then it all came flooding back a couple of days later. married him 2.5 years later and still together today.

Four different blokes have asked you to marry them.... just how fit are you? If a member of the opposite sex looks at me twice they're either cross eyed or cid.

some really nice stories on here, and a lot of very romantic locations. thinking back i should have waited until i was in a more fitting setting rather than an NCP car park....in Leeds :(
but the moment took me and the rest is history.

sad to read some that have gone wrong, but to me life is for sharing with a wife, or there's just no point.......that's what my wife says anyway!!!
