Heaven forbid we should attract fans who like winning football teams and want to spend money that we can use to improve the team. Let's make them feel unwelcome and drive them across town.

I don't go to games - I can't. Not enough money and I'm the only footie fan in the family. Although I've tried to get my daughter interested, she's still not fussed about the divine game, and I can't justify either the money to go with a disinterested child or the time to go at weekends on my own (single parenthood has its benefits as in I don't have an idiot of an ex husband around, but it also has its downsides).
Should I trot out my Maine Road credentials to justify it though? Used to go week in week out with my dad as a child and have been to matches since before sprog came along. Does that make me not plastic? Or should I just hang my head in shame that I have to watch matches on tv?
I think I'll just say fuck it to anyone who is mean spirited enough to doubt the fact that I'm a fan of this club and will be till I turn up my toes. I don't have anything to prove and as a female, at least I don't have to get into the "my dick is bigger than yours" type contests that go on ;-)

Why dont you just enjoy our stadium being full, and show any new fans what it means to be part of this club.
Lets have an end to this thread, and others like it please.
We have a new lad near us and he was made more than welcome

The Scarlet Pimpernel said:This is a shit thread.....have never had the money to attend on a week in week out basis and dont mind admitting it (still havent).....does it make me a glory hunter....er no. I went to every Europa league match last year at home and plenty of others, have a ticket for Sat and Wednesday.
Listened to all the games on GMR I didnt attend when we were in the third tier of English football (attended around a half dozen), went Wembley for the play off final without a ticket and could not afford a ticket off the touts. Watched in a pub next to Wembley with some cockney red watching the champs league final replay in the background - screamed the place down when Dickov scored and weaver saved those pens... was at Hillsborough watching Keegan's army destroy Wednesday with the new Ali B ruling the pitch, chanted ALI ALI ALI, hands waving up and down in the air...
So when I turn up to watch my beloved blues on Sat in a seat I ve never sat in before and probably will never sit in again, do I really have to sit around self trumped up tossers concentrating on negative bullshit instead of being immersed into a carnival of happy bubbly blues???
If this unwelcoming atmosphere is what our club is going to become then I might just not bother trying to introduce my nephew to the blues as this is not what I remember from the spirit and passion that used to exist in the KIPPAX. ctid - shit thread, sort it out!

Come to our ground by all means, watch a match and have a good day out, just don't use our shirts as souvenirs though.
