With the resources and results of all of City's past coaches, where does Hughes rank amongst them?

Think this is a thread best created at the end of the season really.

well its almost 1.5 seasons already, isn't that enough time to make an analysis?

The finance involved makes it impossible to judge. How would Pearce have done with this money? How would Hughes have done with nowt? He did okay at Blackburn to be honest, but is that his level?

It's far to early to judge him yet, but it would be fair to say he's already above Alan Ball! As for resources, none really have had anything close(since, perhaps the late 70s). As results go each of the last 3 managers have ended to season higher(at least once)so as of yet nothing to write home about.

No its not, not with HIS squad it isn't. This is his squad which he has assembled with 1 real transfer window, which was when he really got stuck into the Sheikh's cash in the summer. The winter window last year was to build in preparation for the summers window, and then for this season. We are half of a season into Hughes full squad of players, and so far he has us 6th and into a semi final. A pretty good return......so far. The time to really judge though is May 10'.

Yet.... MANY on here are willing to pass judgement on SGE based on 10months in the job........

So far so good. Got rid of the crap, brought in the good. Some decisions are baffling (he knows the players better than we do though so he knows what they are capable of) but overall I like what he's done. Despite the blinkered view of some of the more vocal posters calling for his head, I like what he's done so far and he's built a platform that we can really add to and do the business.
