Where do you think we'll finish this season and why?

Pre season isn't worth taking too seriously. You don't know how tough training has been and we are without key personnel.

However, concerns remain over yaya and our central midfield. Delph looked good and we have fernandinho but is that enough?

Bony is injured and aguero yet to return, will we have enough firepower if dzeko leaves?

Left back horrific and without further additions I think we will finish third. I can see Arsenal taking another step forward.
What has Arsenal done in the offseason to take a step forward?

If we can keep key players fit and avoid any long term injuries then I reckon we are more than capable of winning the league.

This season requires the midfield to have a far better season, the likes of Yaya, Dinho, Nando and Nasri were poor to their standards last season although Nasri did have a good spell for a few weeks it's not good enough over the course of a full season. I reckon Bony will feature a lot more as well and the one player I'm really looking forward to seeing get some games in.

No AFCON this season will ensure we keep Yaya and Bony for the duration of the whole season as well. I'm going Zaba and Aguero won't be feeling the effects of constant football the last 3 years as well playing in the Prem, World Cup, Prem, Copa America and then the Prem again this season.

As things stand, probably 2nd or 3rd after the rags and chelsea (sadly) but with KDB and PP added to the squad, it'd be a photo-finish between us and the rags, with us coming tops

so you think united are going to win the league, theres a post in the united thread that outlines their transfers and how it would look if the quality of player in and out at united would look if it was citys transfer dealings up until now, bear with me whilst I find it young man.

thanks mikejl

all the rags getting giddy. Reverse the situation & you can put their position in perspective.

Imagine the following - Joe Hart in his last season of his contract is obviously not going to sign & being courted by Bayern Munich - Aguero unhappy & misses the official pre season trip instead tying up a move to Madrid for 30% less than his market value - caballero has a public falling out with Pelligrini over selection & is told he has no future at the club our replacement for both is a free transfer - Bony is sold to Galatasary for a nominal fee as he's unhappy - we sign an unheard of Italian full back & ageing superstar from the Bundesliga who is now injury prone & Southamptons defensive midfielder

that's a bit far-fetched. Utd were way behind last season, and arguably they are weaker now than they were last season whilst City and Arsenal are stronger.

A lot rests on Toure. Can he recover, and if not how do we play without him.

What has Arsenal done in the offseason to take a step forward?

They've signed a top quality keeper that will stop them conceding stupid goals. They've also got another year as a team together. The difference between Arsenal and ourselves is that as time goes on they get better and closer to their peak, and our key players are ageing. That's why we've needed to add youth to the side. Simply by winning the FA Cup again and having another year with a settled and established side they can challenge if injuries don't occur too often.

Cazorla pulling the strings, Coquelin doing the defensive work and the amount of pace and talent in midfield they have should see them improve.

We've improved without a doubt, but I'm still concerned by our options in central midfield and at left back.

Equally, they'll be concerned by their central defensive strength in depth.

Chelsea remain the only side with real quality in every position.

2nd without any new signings. QF champions league and we will win a cup.

This plus we are not going to get into our stride until the Argies, Delph & Bony get upto match fitness which will not be until September. By then we will have dropped, and most likely lost, against Chelsea and Everton. We will be playing catch up again!!
Hope I'm wrong.

If we put a serious title challenge together and go close then im happy with that. I still think we are 2 players short to seriously push Chelsea for the league and i think at present we could be in for a patchy year.
