Where would you most like to live in the UK?...........

I'm already here

Wife wants to move to Cornwall/Devon on a permanent basis but I can't see the attraction so maybe you can help me out. I love the footy and going to gigs but it's 5 hours (on a good run one way to City) and nobody plays down in the SouthWest. The jobs market down there is poor compared to Manchester and to top it off I'm not a lover of the sea.

I find the 'locals' amongst the most racist I've ever encountered in the UK and the pubs expensive. I'd love to hear what's good about the place and would love you to sell it to me

Yes I am lucky, been here nearly 20 years... Missing the games is a pain in the arse though.

I live in a small Village just outside Penzance called Tredavoe.

nice, got married in st ives after many years of visiting, I think i'll be going every year til I kick it!

Citysmith: if its not for you its not for you. Its a secluded place, quiet and doesnt have anywhere with a vibe like Manchester. For me thats perfect im not really into city life, but I know it would drive others insane. If you dont like the sea dont move to cornwall! Being by the sea is something I find very peaceful and comforting, dont know what it is but It just takes all my worries away, particularly looking across to st ives from carbis bay etc, the view just doesnt get better.

I dont think i'll ever get the chance to move there because of the jobs situation as you said, would be very difficult in my field. Im currently living in the countryside near york though less than an hour from the coast which im very happy with.

I'm in Troon near Camborne, 15 mins from north and south coast, wouldn't swap it for anything.

I often wonder if I would have that same love of cornwall if I loved there, just visiting is not the same as living through the winter, the shit weather etc but everyone who lives or has moved there seem to love it and those who move away seem to regret it!
