I've not been to Anfield before, as regards wearing colours in the city centre and on public transport to and from the ground how safe is it?

I mean normally I wouldn't care that much but they seem quite a bitter set of fans these days, and while not hating us as much as the rags they certainly are envious of City and obviously don't like our city generally

Are you still at primary school?` A bitter set of fans these days`! Fuck me they used slash your face up in the 80`s.

Remember a lad getting slashed on his back needing eighty stitches as he didn't have a Merseyside accent , what made it worse for him was he was actually a Liverpool fan from Cheshire and was mistaken for a blue.
A very scary place then if you were not a Scouser , now it is a picnic in comparison.
Like many grounds at that time one had a sense of achievement in getting home in one peice.

In the 80s I met some mates from Sheffield W as was living at Lpool at the time and walked back to the coach with them after.A SWFC fan came towards us slashed on the back with a stanley and a young scouse kid coming past looked at the cut - he claimed he knew which gang had done it by the mark on his back!

They also put 2 blades in the stanley knives at that time(as did other fans) with something in between as it was harder to stitch up I am told but never saw evidence of that.
