Which City Player Has Turned You Around?

Kyle walker. Was easy to dislike and although it's crazy to think now, back then at Spurs he was known as a attacking fullback that couldn't defend. Didn't want us to sign him, took me about 2 games to see that was a wrong call.

In the current team, Rodders, he looked slow, weak and lost when he joined.

Takes time to get into our way of playing but looked on a level of Javi Garcia.

However the thread is more about players already known well to the poster prior to signing I think so I'd go for Gaz Baz. As I've said many times, unless you saw him live at a game you can't begin to appreciate his play.

Gaz Baz. Thought he was an unnecessary signing and not in line with what the club should have gone for during our first summer and wasn't really that excited, but he was important to everything in those early years

They’ve actually been few and far between for me, the ones I expected to be shite were, and the ones I expected to be good were.
I could say Dave, Sergio, Gaz Baz and Andy Morrison at a push, but there was always a caveat to that when I watched them, Dave was being played as a winger, Sergio showed little touches of brilliance but wasn’t consistent and didn’t impact the game, Gaz Baz, I listened to Fred Eyre who always rated him so always took Fred at his word, and Andy, not the greatest footballer, but we were short of a leader more than anything else, and I knew he’d bring that in buckets.

But I think genuinely, for players who really turned me around I’d have to go as far back back as Tommy, Gerry and Bobby, the difference between what I thought they’d bring, to what they did was ‘night and day’.

Really? Always thought he was a class act. Had to be pulled from the pub by the stepdad the day we signed him as I'd taken celebrating it a bit far...

Goater.
Used to laugh when he was announced over the tannoy as goal machine goater.
Yes, this all day, every day, every damn day.
The first few games he played I knew we'd hit rock bottom but then I started realising he was bloody good. To see him play and play well in the Premier was brilliant.

Just out of interest, what was Shaun’s goals to minutes ratio in the Premier League ?
I remember sat there trying to work it out once, didn’t quite get there, but where I did get to, it seemed bloody decent, I think what got me wondering was remembering Joe Royle being asked about Shaun and the Premier League, he just looked at the interviewer, he replied in a most matter of fact way and with a slight tone of distain “Shaun will score goals in the Premier League”, so Joe Really did rate Shaun (as do I).
