Which country next for the CFG group

Padua I thought that we had invested in club in South Africa. So a club in North Africa would suit us fine. The one and only problem I have with that is that should we take a player from Africa, and his country qualified. For The African Cup of Nations we would lose him for 2 months every other year.

We would be better of looking involving for clubs in either Poland, Ukraine, etc. As it would be easier to bring them into the squad for all of the season. We would not be having to realise them during the months of January and February. This is when the African Cup of Nations is usually played.
We didn't invest in South Africa. We used to have a "partnership" with Mpumalanga Black Aces that wasn't on the scale of CFG clubs, more like what we have had with Bury, Hyde and Grasshoppers in the past, or even less, I'm not sure really what either side did about the partnership... but the entire team went under and no longer exists. The guy who sold Cape Town Spurs to Ajax many moons ago (to become Ajax Cape Town) actually bought the league licence of Black Aces and founded Cape Town City with it, with the intention of courting/tempting us into investing or purchasing it from him, but we weren't interested and he's still running the club with no relation to us.

I suspect those behind Mumbai City had the same plans and pulled it off, given that they hired two ex-City figures as manager before we got involved, and with the name.

If not Morocco though, South Africa would have some potential. Fairly built-up league but lots of room for growth. A few stadiums were built in the run up to the world cup. They can swap up the vuvuzela for the inflatable banana. Maybe that's not so appropriate in SA as it is in Eastlands though.

Tempted to suggest Krasnodar in the Russian top flight owner by another rich business person so could help with getting sponsorship

Decent stadium decent league in a large country with a large market

Not a perfect country rubbish leader not poorly run but large economy

But the main reason is that they have football schools spread over 20 cities in two Russian regions main one had housing for the kids and a stadium for 3000 looks amazing Russia produces some decent players

WRicko having travelled to Poland when it was still behind the Iron curtain. The two times I have been, both times I had to go through what was then Easy Germany, believe me I would want nothing to do with any team in Russia. There would be to much interference from the Russian Government.

I would rather have a team from Poland, Czech republic, or maybe even Switzerland. Just think of it, if we owned a club in Switzerland I just wonder what UEFA would make of it. Especially if we get them winning the Swiss equivalent of our Premier League.

Could it be Egypt for the 11th CFG club?

A team called Pyramids FC in Cairo (who were coincidentally founded in 2008) have just changed their badge to something very much in the CFG style.

Plus they've been backed by a Saudi prince who seems to want out.

Is it wrong of me to say I couldn't give a shit about having another club in any other country.?
I support Manchester City and that's it.

No. There's an article in The Athletic, first of 2, about CFG but I don't get it. It seems City, which is 90% of CFG, is being ignored for the other 10%. City Matters was always attended by Omar Berrada, as City COO. Now he's gone to CFG as COO for Football Operations. He's been replaced by the guy from Nissan, Roel De Vries, but as CFG COO, not City COO.

Probably not worth its own thread but the Indian CFG team have started the season really well.

Wonder if we've thrown money into them for a quick fix?
