Which foreign teams do you have a soft spot for and why?

I have a soft spot for FC SPAL of Ferrara as my sister lives there. I rented an apartment opposite the stadium about 5 years back and couldn't believe how noisy their supporters were, they didn't stop singing and chanting all game! Got to see them a couple of seasons back v Sampdoria and both sets of fans were at it non stop and the crowd was only around 15k. SPAL remind me of an Italian Bournemouth as they punched way above their weight in Serie A. Hoping they get promoted and I get to see them again.

I lived in Malmo for 3 years. Saw quite a few games including European games. Roy Hodgson was head coach at the time. He was also a TV pundit.

Aah right. Did you manage to get to any other grounds whilst you were living in Germany? My lad is fascinated by the idea of going to watch Leipzig at home. I must admit that experiencing the East of Germany intrigues me as well.

if you fancy east of germany you could do no better than watching dynamo dresden-lovely city and their fans are fanatical. went to leipzig, nice city but the football stadium was a bit soulless in a corporate way.

Probably Barcelona, dortmund. I like the Prague teams because of their influence on European football back in the day. I like Sevilla too for some reason.

Connah's quay nomads, had great time playing there, the old pitch behind the halfway house gone now along with the pub, always kicked uphill first half , downhill 2nd when opposition were fucked, didn't help mind as we were crap ;-))

Hansa Rostock - happened to be in Munich when they played Bayern in 91 first game of the season just after East and West German leagues merged. Went in with the away fans and Rostock won 2-1 - friendly guys despite looking like Status Quo's road crew. I was wearing the maroon City away kit and was filmed by a film crew for their cub video.

Honved - initially because of the Half Man Half Biscuit song. Was in Budapest a few years ago so went to see them. Freezing conditions, able to drink beer whilst watching and they won 3-2 with a goal in the final minute after coming from behind twice. The stadium has since been demolished.

Nice to see another HMHB fan.

Always liked Anderlecht believe it or not, used to like Robbie Rensenbrink and that purple kit, even had their subbuteo team.
When the Italian football was on in the 90's always liked Sampdoria and Fiorentina (purple kit again) not the best teams but always played decent football.

yeah they took thirty thousand to hertha in the cup. on a wednesday night in only the second round of the cup. they took similar numbers to munich and nuremberg.
