Which of our previous players would improve City today?

Keith Curle for me , had pace which we lack at the back , a leader and good organiser would be ideal for us in this current team.

Danny Sturridge anyone? Seeing as our strikers are either injured or misfiring at the moment.

Super Kev in the holding role - not as good as Ferny obviously, but better than what we have behind him now.

This has got to be a fucking wind-up, surely.

Whenever we are asked to do a list or team of our favourite players Super Kev is always one of the first names I reach for.

The reality is though he was at best a bog standard decent Prem player, and that's what made him stand out in Division 2 and the Championship. The majority of his team mates being a bag of shite also helped.

Do you think Glen Whelan or Chris Brunt would improve us where we find ourselves now?

I reckon Distin would be brilliant next to Kompany, though I'm sure the likes of Doyle, Watson and Ewing would have a better claim to that position. Bell would be brilliant with Yaya or Fernandinho and Summerbee would have a very good shout of playing on the right for us.

Distin is 36 and I reckon he'd still do a better job now than any of our existing CBs as a partner for Vinnie .,...

When all players are fit, I believe we still need a good centre half to partner Vinnie.

So, with that logic I would have any of -

Sylvain Distin
Dave Watson (he was immense)
Mike Doyle (he was immense!!)
Jerome Boateng - the one that got away and plays regularly for Bayern Munich, and
they are not too shabby!!

Boateng was too young when he was here to do a job, but has matured pretty well.


Tevez too - but he could walk into most teams in the world

Boateng was and still is totally shite.

Agreed its not that hard to defend when you have that midfield infront of you and the opposition dont touch the ball

Especially for a team that does not have a real defensive midfielder? Bayern plays a high line - and that is why Boateng with his speed is very important.

Boateng wouldn't last five minutes in the Premier League, he is a proven bottle merchant. The physical teams would chew him up & spit him out. He had his chance & he isn't up to it.

And he was one of the weakest links under pressure in both games v City.
