sorry boys , watched the blues since 1966, all mentioned players fantastic but not a patch on todays pace and tactical play , sorry

But if those players were around today, they would have the training and fitness regimes to bring out the best in them.

Also they wouldn't be playing on mud heaps every week.

And I'm not even sure you're right about the tactical play, as Big Mal was 20 years ahead of his time in that respect.

Franny would easily merit a starting place in today's team and there is no doubt what so ever that Bell would be first name on team sheet

Bell without a doubt. I'm sure I remember reading that he was put through a series of tests by Manchester Uni. back in the day. Turned out he had a very low resting heart rate, something like 40 bpm, which is typical of great middle distance athletes. He wouldn't have struggled with the fitness. Could score goals from inside and outside the box, could head a ball, ran with the ball and off it, wasn't greedy and covered bloody miles every game. Best value signing City ever made, I reckon, about £60 000 from Bury.

I agree but then I'm biased (my son is named after him) - it has to be Colin first, and then any of the others. His vision and passing ability, even with the medicine balls they used in the 60s was exceptional
