Which players are no longer good enough?

Hart is a top shot stopper but he hasn't got the distribution to be a top top keeper I feel. Mangala still passes the ball away under no pressure at all, don't see how pep would like that but I'd probably keep him for another season see how he goes. Sterling "might" come good is what we all hope, I doubt he has the technical ability to play the PlayStation football pep likes to play though.

Joe is a top keeper, just because he's not neur on the ball doesn't mean he's not good enough. The last few games I've seen neur play, he's been far from perfect on the ball. We should be more worried about our current out field players passing a ball than our keeper. Really don't think we should be fucking about with keepers when we've already got a keeper who's been outstanding every season since he came back from Birmingham.

Hart would do. He is world class, am basing that on feedback, performances, international status. Why are you saying he isn't? I mean what reason?

The rest.... Not sure tbh. but I think there is more to it than being the ' best '. Look at Leicester, great team spirit etc.. If we got that right then I do think we would be one of the best in Europe.... even with our team. Also, we are in the cl semi, you don't achieve that without world class players..

But why not Hart, my god I think if it wasn't for him we would have lost some important games
I know, I like Hart he's one of my favourites I'm just trying to see things with Peps style of play in mind.

Bingo, you hit the nail on the head just right there.
We are looking at replacing almost half of our entire squad.
He spend serious money over time on dross signing such as Sinclair, Rodwell, Bony, Garcia, Savic, Fernando, Jovetic, etc... and kept going on.
While we should have promoted youngsters from the EDS and made one or two big key signing per year.

Txiki and Savic? Come on, you should know Txiki wasn't around when Savic was bought. And even his replacement Nastasic was Mancini's wish.

Some of those players were sold for not big loss and some were pretty logical buys at the moment - specially the English ones. We needed homegrown players and they were talented and not expensive. It didn't work but at the moment they were bought and for money we did it, it was not some WTF moment for sure. Rodwell was a big talent in his time, not as big when we bought him as 2-3 years earlier but there was hope for him at that time and it wasn't some huge money for young English player. He was sold for surprisnigly good amount of money. Sinclair was very good at Swansea and it was reasonable buy for 7-8 millions.

Everyone was screaming about Jovetic when we bought him(plus our interest in him was earlier than Txiki, it was Mancini's wish), Txiki or anyone else wouldn't know he will spend most of his time with doctors rather than on the pitch. Fernando was also pretty rated and is not that bad buy for money we spent on him, the issue is that we should get him for free and should have told him - you either run your contract down or you're not coming here. For free he would be good buy and we couldn't afford to buy some top players at his position as we were kicked in the balls by UEFA.

Bony was absolutely the worst buy in Txiki's reign, even if it would be Pellegrini's wish, that was so awful buy it's not fair. He should probably get rid of Yaya earlier and we overpaid for Mangala though he still might come to be worth of that money in some longer run.

Txiki wasn't brilliant so far but he is not as bad as some people are trying to make him. For bad look at twats from Swamp. He came here in tricky times when we were under FFP threat and we couldn't throw money on players like we did before him. He was mainly buying squad players and English players. squad players are that - squad players, you can't expect world class for 10-20 million and English players are overrated and expensive. He overpaid for some players but that's how life looks when you're City's DoF, everyone wants top money from you. But he also sold some players for nice amounts, something we couldn't do before him. He sold some high profile players who were on the big wages too and that was also important. FFS, he even sold Balotelli for 20 odd million.

Yaya, Bony, and possibly even....dare I say it....Zab.

Possibly Kolarov. I personally think he can add a different dimension to our game (similar to Navas) and sometimes is our most important player. But i think his defensive liabilities and style of play won't make a good fit with Peppy's system.

Yaya
Bony
Zaba
Kompany
Kolarov
Fernando
Demi

1 more year:

Clichy/Sagna while we bed in new full backs
Fernandinho
Silva
Navas

Shape up or shift out:

Mangala
Ottamendi
Sterling

Unsellable:

Sergio
Kevin

He didn't buy Sinclair, Rodwell, Garcia,or Savic. He did Sell Rodwell and Garcia for way over their value.
