Which players are no longer good enough?

Your benchmark must be barcelona or bayern then. And they have some wrkmanlike players in their squad too. They are not all Messis and Robbens. You need squad players.
Dead right it is. We won't get t their level fielding the crap we have right now.

Can't believe people are still mentioning Fernando. What more does the guy have to do to prove he's worthy of a place in this squad? He's been superb for months now. Some people are mentioning way too many players here. There's no way we'll get rid of around 10 players. MDM will obviously be gone so he'll need replacing, fullbacks will be a priority with 1 on each side probably staying for the time being and then replacing Yaya will be the next task. Other than maybe a new striker I wouldn't expect much more business than that. That equates to 4/5 new first teamers. Any more would be too much for one window.

If we are to build a squad to be up there with the best, he's not good enough. Limited footballer, but we've got far to many of them at the minute.

For me there are some player who have to go, then there are other players who we should let go if we sort out an improved replacement, but the priority should be those who have to go

Yaya, Nasri and Kolarov all need to go due to their attitude, I think it's toxic and it's a terrible example to set for the other players to have such established players who only try when they fancy it. Zaba and Demichelis need to go because they are finished at this level. Bony and Caballero need to go as they just don't fit in the team and have no place here.

Once we've sorted all that out and sorted out replacements for them we can start looking at the players who we could improve on but could still do a job if needed. Clichy, Sagna, Mangala, Otamendi, Delph, Navas and maybe even Spanish Dave should be all be on the line depending on who we can get in and what Pep think of them

Nasri is without doubt a very good player but his arrogance and attitude are his downfall. When he's not happy, for sure he'll bring everyone else down and for that reason - he shout be out.

Get shut of Kolarov and MD. Zaba and Toure's legs have gone so I'd be looking to move them on too. Delph probably isn't good enough but maybe a useful back up player. Fernando may be leaving anyway. The rest of who stays and goes will also depend on who we can bring in to replace them. If be looking at a RB, LB, CD and 2 CMs as a minimum.

I think the issue with Fernando is that him and Fernandinho are too alike but Fernandinho just edges it. They are both effective at breaking up play and dominating a midfield but distribution and creativity are both relatively poor. We have missed that cleverness and creativity since Toures basically got old/ cant be arsed and we badly need it back. One of the two of them has to make way for a Pogba/ Vidal type player.

I think its easier to say which ones are good enough and start from there.
Joe
Vinny ( if he can sort out his injuries)
Silva
KDB,
Fernandinho,
Sergio
Nacho
Sterling (only because I can't believe he's this poor, he has to be better than this surely)
