Which players do city owe a debt to?

If Dickov had been any good at his job, we wouldn't have been in the play offs, but promoted automatically, or even not relegated in the first place

A debt is owed to the players from our late 60's early 70's glory years. The players, in comparison to todays footballers, weren't paid alot and were not properly looked after either physically or mentally

Barton... hate to say it but he pulled us out the shit some games when we were flirting at the wrong end of the table!! i wouldn't go as far saying city owe him but he should always have a warm reception from us!! Him and Dunney saved us many a time!!

Mulhearn, Book, Pardoe, Doyle, Heslop, Oakes, Lee, Bell, Summerbee, Young, Coleman plus Connor and Horne - for giving me the best ever season of supporting City.

I went to every league match home and away, and I can only hope that the rest of you get to experience a season like that in the not too distant future.

I agree with this!

I'd also like to see Colin Hendry back...and Vonky!

Kevin Horlock for me, - A genuinely consistent performer, all season, when we were really in the mire, trudging around the 3rd division (Cica 97/98)

The major part that his that first goal, against Gillingham, at Wembley, played, in leading to where we are now, should never be underestimated.

Another vote for Super Kev, a top pro and one of the sweetest left pegs in football.

I still laugh now looking back on that day he was sent off for......... aggressive walking
Super Kev

goater (should get him more involved like we did with Paul Lake)
dunne
barton (I dont care what people say, he gave 100% for the club and always played well for us)
sweeps

soon, tevez (despite everything, hes helped greatly in making the club what it is today).

Hendry was another one though who left for the money. That will always leave a sour taste

and what a left foot!

Alan Oakes , unsung hero of our league winning side, great servant, Lee Bell Summerbee get the plaudits, but Oakes alongside Glynn Pardoe on the left side provided a great platform, for the flair players to shine.

have to agree with the people who are throwing bartons name in the ring, as much as i hate the guy, he carried that team on the field at times

Bert Trautmann. To carry on playing in cup final with a broken neck, deserves more praise than anything else done by and City player.

Gary Neville.

Even after all these years, his assist for the Goat's 99th City goal is still the best piece of football in a Manchester derby - even better than the Law backheel. Never have so many blues have had so much rich enjoyment from a single incident.

And there's more.

How many schoolboy dreams of international glory were rekindled by the simple realisation that if the Nevilles play for England, so can I? How many of us have realised that whatever our own Dads shortcomings, at least he wasn't called Neville Neville? How many of us have found it that bit easier to despise a famous old Club like Everton simply because his twat of a brother is there? (Okay, Gollum helps too, as does DSOB)? How many of us - be honest - have wondered about trying a 'tache or goatee, only to be brought to our senses by what a complete c#nt he looks with his? And just when some of us were thinking he had turned from Red Scrote 1 to a half-decent pundit, he gives Dunnie the MOTM award just before Dunne he scores a record-breaking own goal to give QPR a share of the spoils in their game against Villa.

So, yes, the club owes him a debt.
