I'm 32 now and as far as I am aware several on here were at the school at the same time and probably know me.
I was there 94 - 99.

Like you, Vienna, I went to Xaverian but only for sixth form, 86-88. The back wall of St Pius was probably only 100 yards from Xavs so I still reckon we might have been a bit closer to Main Road than Ducie, which was off Denmark Road I think. Apparently SWP and Ned also went to Xaverian more recently. Did we used to send Academy lads there or something?Vienna70 said:LongsightM13 said:Which was the closest secondary school to Maine Road? Of the three, Ducie was the closest. But as close was Xaverian College, (there must be only 100 yds or so in it), which is where I went 1971 -1976.
It's proximity to Maine Rd was very handy in Jan 1974, when I played wag to go and watch City V Coventry in the League Cup Qtr final replay. They played it midweek during the day, (because of the power cuts that were common that winter), and my mum and dad wouldn't let me take the day off school to go to it.
I did admit it though, sometime in my thirties I think! :)
Meh! Pronounce the 'X' like a 'Z'!corky1970 said:LongsightM13 said:Like you, Vienna, I went to Xaverian but only for sixth form, 86-88.
