Which was the closest secondary school to Maine Road? At St Pius we all thought it was us, but Birley and Ducie also apparently claimed the same thing

Of the three, Ducie was the closest. But as close was Xaverian College, (there must be only 100 yds or so in it), which is where I went 1971 -1976.

It's proximity to Maine Rd was very handy in Jan 1974, when I played wag to go and watch City V Coventry in the League Cup Qtr final replay. They played it midweek during the day, (because of the power cuts that were common that winter), and my mum and dad wouldn't let me take the day off school to go to it.

I did admit it though, sometime in my thirties I think! :)

Well remembered! I was at Bishop Bilsborrow Primary at the time and my older brother took me. That is still (arguably) the best City game I've ever seen...

It's called sarcasm as you said you went to a school in Bolton. It's obviously passed you by,never mind! Yet another one who takes everything literally on here. If it was meant to be taken literally i'd be quizzing you about your place of birth ffs.
No doubt you're going to tell us all now where you were born just so it gets all cleared up?

I'm sure no one else has admitted to going to Brookdale Park.. you can't be surprised surely?

And as for spanking those nancies at Moston Brook... I'm sure that was never the case. We used to look on Brookdale Park as a special school for special children...
