Just missed you, left in Sept 75, only lasted 14days into 5th form before being expelled. Derek (Jimmy) Saville was the head.

Herman Lowe, Cragg, Cooke, Fielding, Waite are names that spring to mind, remember them?

Good school as it happens, just didn't realise it at the time.

Surprised about Herman, was a bit strange but I wouldn't have had him down for that, Colin Cooke was the known nonce at that school, proper wrongun.
As for fielding, agreed he was a big headed twat, I think he may be the head at Bramhall now. Played for Salford & GB, fast fucker.

It certainly is a howler of an error by whoever transposed the 11 plus results.
There is probably a bright kid somewhere who ended up at Offerton High scratching his head in bemusement and wondering why life is so cruel.

Know the name but don't know them personnaly although I do live just round the corner.

Enid used to work at Barrow AFC's study centre, and helped write a superb book of memories. She is now a school sec. on Walney.
