Which watch do you wear?

I got one like this:

It's a Casio, does analogue, and digital too. It checks the time by radio control every so often.

Cost about £20 on the Argos returns eBay website.

I never understood why you'd spend so much money on an item that does the exact same thing as one that costs £20. It's the same with Pens (Montblanc).

Got a Montblanc and its absolutely beautiful.. but in reality it's all a status symbol isn't it!

Slightly too big to be truely beautiful but not a bad attempt with an in the house movement, slim automatics are complication in themselves, big mongy fat one's are like chinese food for the english ('Dickhead tackle')

Ok some of you lot seem bang into your watches.

What could i get that is less than the 2-3k my omega cost that is nice looking but not so expensive as i am reluctant to wear it on a daily basis.

No rolex please as they are crude and uncouth.

Tag maybe ?
Oris are a lot of watch for the cost. Their dive watches are incredible, the dress watches are classy and there are plenty of dealers in Mcr.
If you want a TAG, try the outlet at Cheshire Oaks. There's usually a half decent choice there.
If you're getting one from a high street shop,I'd expect at least 20% off RRP. Haggle and they ll give in.

As for Rolex, they seem to get an unwarranted bad press on here for some reason. Some of their models are timeless classics. Look beyond the car dealers bi gold bling and check out a Submariner,a Seadweller or a GMT. Beautiful , understated and reassuringly expensive:)
Plus, you'll rarely lose money on a Rolex if you come to sell it.

I do like a good watch. I have an Omega Planet Ocean and a special edition Breitling Super Ocean, one of only 200, very nice it is too. I'm about to purchase the female version of the Breitling for my daughter as a bit of an heirloom/investment only 30 made.

Fancy a nice watch myself, and, as a pilot, usually go for the GMTs because all our times are in GMT. Have a Rolex GMT, Panerai Luminor GMT (both of which are kept in the autowinder for immediate use, when needed) and a Casio GW400 (on my wrist right now!).

Also have a Seiko dress watch (thin with Roman numerals on white face) from my parents for when I could not go on holiday with the rest of the family (very sentimental gift), a Tag Heuer Chrono (broken wristband too lazy to fix at present!), Casio E6B Flight Calculator watch my wife bought me for passing my Commerical Pilot Flight Test (another sentimental gift), and a white-faced stainless Timex digi-analog dual time (GMT!) I used to wear as a daily.

Wife has a Seiko and a Cartier tank watch, but rarely wears either, as she is always doing something that she thinks would require taking them off.

This is the one I wanted, and got, for Christmas, and which I now use for daily wear, and sometimes flying....Casio GW4000. Solar powered, atomic clock updating, world time, alarm, DST, chrono..... Every now and then, it gets some bright light, or picks up the Atomic Clock, and the second hand moves forward to update the exact time! Love it! Let's me know I have the EXACT right time!!

This is the one I have been looking for a good deal on...The Bell & Ross GMT, though I am not a fan of rubber wristbands!

They are pretty big on the wrist, as I've tried this same watch on in non-GMT spec, but love the BIG Orange GMT hour hand for easy reading. Old school pilot stuff!

There are some people with especially good taste on this thread with some very tasty watches! I quite fancy an Omega Seamaster, which could serve as an heirloom hand-me-down for my lad, but I've tried to get my kids (14 yo boy and 16yo girl) interested, but like others on this thread, they say, "Why do I need a watch, I have an iPhone 5 with clock, world time, alarm, stopwatch and countdown timer?!" Hopefully, as they mature, they will realize it is NOT JUST ABOUT THE TIME!!
