Which watch do you wear?

The fact that people pay over £1000, even over £100, for a watch in a recession simply blows my mind.

Can I ask those who pay silly money for watches - would you spend £500 on a belt or a pair of shoes too?
Ahem, didn't you start this topic?

-- Tue Mar 19, 2013 4:34 am --

If I was to buy a decent watch, lets say an Eco drive citizen which will probably last for 15/20 years if not more, would cost me 400 quid and wouldn't require batteries, would this watch not represent value for money considering over the time I had it, it would actually cost pence per day?
Depends. Do you own a mobile phone?

I've had a Bell & Ross classic for nearly 10 years now. It's an accurate, understated and uncluttered timepiece. Very few high street stockists ( Goldsmiths is the only one that comes to mind ) so that is a plus to my way of thinking. Internet probably the best bet for anyone interested.

I love watches and have done since specialising as an horologist many, many years ago after leaving college.

My favourite is an Oris Divers, Date - black bezel and black face. Tags look too small on my wrist and I cant abide Rolex.

My Rado D-Star 200 is lush

Im saving up for a nice Omega and perhaps a Breitling.

Looking forward to when Apple and Samsung release 'smart' watches!

Will be interesting to see how current Samsung and apple phone users react with their buying.

I wear a nice Seiko that my little lad found in January. Clearly new but whoever lost it did not think of going to the police station. 28 days later I have a new watch!

Normally wear a cheap Lorus but it does the job.

My 5402 with it's more 'modern' sibling.

Gone, but not forgotten ...[/quote]

Nice kettle fella...i'd have swerved the variant on the left meself and sourced a 3700 nautilus..afterall the dream/vision was all about high end steel. Thanks for showing-belter.

Any opinions on this from the watch experts on here?
I'm thinking of buying it.
