Italia 90 was my first proper memory of a world Cup. I was 11.

I remember my dad getting me the Panini sticker album and I spent most of my pocket money trying to fill it.

Still springs to mind when anyone mentions a world Cup after all these years.

I can remember one or two snippets of the 74 World Cup but definitely the 78 Argentina one for me. 'Exotic' location, the ticker tape streaming down from the stands, Archie Gemmill, my first Panini World Cup sticker album and too young to be anything other than totally oblivious to the political backdrop. Still remember playing football in Chaddy Park with us all pretending to be Kempes or Luque and doing David Coleman commentaries. One nil!

Would say 1998 but the final was such a letdown with Ronaldo having the seizure. I'll go with 2010, had a bit of everything.

Cameroon‘s shithousery against Cannigga in the opening game.
Baggio.
Schillachi’s eyes.
Milla’s corner flag dance.
Lineker shitting his pants.
Voller vs Rijkaard.
Platt’s volley.
Gascoigne’s tears.

Just needed a better final, but 2 red cards made it eventful at least.

Can’t disagree but we didn’t get a colour tv till 1970 which just made Mexico 70 come to life and stick in my memory

Mexico 86 for me. 12years old. Hugo sanchez, Maradona, Enzo fransescoli, rummenige, socrates, zico some of the names I remember as my favourites. My first world Cup I remember. Italia 90 was great also.
