Which would be worse?

All would be equally bad. Everton are noxious. Liverpool too.

But I think losing Stoke would be a nightmare. The media would play the taffia thing to the max

Well going by the sky ad for next weeks semi finals,it will be an all scouse final,as for the question lose semi final or final couldn't bear the thought of losing to Liverpool as there would be rejoicing in the media and it declared as a victory for football, but it's not going to happen as next week we will run out 3.1 winners, and do Liverpool in the final with sterling getting the winner....

Bit of a hypothetical, even juvenile, question but it's been a slow news day and some miserable sod locked all the player threads.

Was chatting with a mate at the weekend, and we were arguing what would be worse: losing the semi-final against Everton, or the final against Liverpool.

He thought losing the semi would be worse, as reaching the final and finishing as runners-up would still be an achievement of sorts.

For me, losing the final against them would be more unpalatable. The thought of 45,000 gloating scousers at Wembley, and the subsequent media love-in, would be unbearable.

Obviously I've no love for Everton and losing to them on Wednesday would hurt, but at least you could get home quickly and forget about it. Traipsing back from Wembley after a defeat isn't a pleasant experience, if Wigan in 2013 is anything to go by.

You have mates Ric?? ;-) I never knew that...........

I would hate to lose to Everton in the semi and would just love to beat Liverpool in the final. Partly because I've turned so much against Everton's manager who used to be my second favourite Roberto but has turned out to be a hypocrite and partly because they are from scouseland!! With the Liverpool bit, because my eldest son and his in-laws are all Liverpool fans, yes I still don't know where I went wrong with that one!! So we've got to win the cup. OK Blue Boys?

So definitely sound footballing reasons for wanting to beat everyone. I remember Wigan in 2013 and (apart from Dave I broke my leg you know Whelan) I had a soft spot for them because they'd never won before so I didn't feel toooooo bad about it after about half an hour or so. And I worked in Wigan for a few years and had some good friends there. Again good sound footballing reasons.......... I really must get rid of my tolerance levels. :-)

I'd not bother showing my face for a couple of weeks if we lost to Liverpool. No doubt if they beat us they'd fucking hammer us as well by Sod's law.

Maybe however, because we are their cup final and it would actually be a cup final, it'd act as a double negative and they'd be garbage. I can hope!

For me mate losing the final would be horrific. You'd have every ex Liverpool player come out taking the piss of Sterling. Klopp would be the new Messiah. I think it would be absolutely unbearable.

I'm still scarred after losing 5 nil every season in the 80s/ 90s to Lpool . Really want to give them a stuffing , so to lose again to them and in a final would be unbearable

It would exorcise a few ghosts by stuffing those thieves in the final, know exactly what you mean though, all throughout my youth they scared the shit out of me...

It could put to bed this inferiority complex that still exists (stupidly), similar to the rags in the fa cup semi!!!

I agree, this is the worse scenario, the semi I can soon forget about

Losing the final no question. The red dippers are far worse, they still actually think they're relevant, not to mention the horrible trip back from Wembley if we lost.

I think losing a final to anyone is far far worse than losing in a semi final. No kudos or trophy for a losing finalist.
I will never forget the sick feeling coming out of Wembley after losing to Wolves, Spurs and Wigan and it would be far worse losing to either of the scousers or the Stokies.

Losing to Liverpool in a final would be almost unbearable. The scouse media mafia would be in a giddy frenzy. The abuse of Sterling would be given fresh legs with everyone from the horse torturer to big nose telling everyone who will listen what a mistake he's made.

All you have to do is remember SSN on the day Liverpool won the title by beating us 3-2 in 2014, the build up was unbearable (playing the Beatles and hardly mentioning us) and the 3 days after were just awful. Losing to Liverpool would only be worsened by losing to the rags IMO

Ye off little faith.

After seeing off bluescouse with a 2-0 win we go to Wembley and go 4 up after 20 minutes eventually winning by 6 as the match Is delayed by a scouse pitch invasion saying its not fair and the teams not ready...
