I get what your saying but Rodri and walker cannot do a shift there as it’s been prooven this season . We need centre backs not defensive midfielders and full backs .
They would be emergency 5th/6th/7th choice options. You can't hedge your bets on your first 4 CB's getting injured and keep options around just on the basis that it might happen.
You do what any other club does - dip into the academy, or play players out of position.

Sterling has played way too many games and needs a good rest because if he doesn’t get the rest his euro dream will be down the pan. But cmon seriously did someone say sell Raheem sterling

They can play there if we for some reason get 4 injuries to our CB's. Pep’s Decisions set to be made on :
John Stones - Keep (but only because we already need to replace Otto and sellign Stones means we would have to buy another centre half as well
Benjamin Mendy - sell - many dont agree but I dont rate him
Leroy Sane - Id keep but he is as good as gone in my opinion
Gabriel Jesus -undecided- but we have to replace Kun first so Id keep him
Joao Cancelo -keep (if he wants to sell
Nicolas Otamendi - sell - simply not good enough
Angelino sell - if we can get 20m plus for him that is amazing business.
