Who’s gone in the summer?

I think Mendy ends up getting loaned and going on a free next summer, We didn't even have a single inquiry about him last summer, and I don't think that will change, maybe someone in France is willing to take him for 5-10M.

If Messi is coming, I can't see Mahrez staying, my guess is Madrid or PSG have a look at him. he's had a good year I could see us get decent money for him.

I think Jesus leaving is dependent on what Aguero does, and whether Messi comes. If Messi arrives, I can't see Sergio leaving for at least a year. and maybe Jesus makes room for him. my guess is we could get 50-60M but given the COVID market, not sure how many teams will have the money to do that.

Agreed he has been poor this season however he is like Stones in that he is a confidence player and some fans very quickly get on their own players back
How do you know he isn’t suffering with similar problems to Stones( I don’t by the way)
The comparison with Stones was really about how our own fans wrote him off and wanted rid
I believe Sterling deserves time and respect he has earned it in my opinion
Furthermore it is only this strange coved season as well he scored around 28 last year
He scored 31 last year.

Out:
LB Benjamin Mendy- Loan or maybe 15M permanent (completely random and arbitrary number)
RW Riyad Mahrez- 40M (he's been in great form and I don't mind him staying)
ST Sergio Aguero (free)
DM Fernandinho (free)
LM Jack Harrison (11M buy option)
CM Ivan Ilic (~12M buy option)
RB Pedro Porro (~8M buy option)
LB Angelino (buy option activated ~18M)
DM Yangel Herrera (~15M, I think a mid table team in any of the big european leagues makes an offer)
LW Jayden Braaf (~9M buy option)
RM Patrick Roberts (~3M)
GK Aro Muric (~2M)
CB Eric Garcia (free)
FW Ryo Meshino (undisclosed buy option)

In (my "dream" scenario):
ST Erling Haaland (120M)
FW Lionel Messi
DM Eduardo Camavinga (~65M plus bonuses)
LB Owen Wijndal (35M)

Forwards
Messi, Haaland, Jesus, Sterling, Torres, Foden, Delap

Midfielders
KDB, Gundo, Bernardo, Rodri, Camavinga, Doyle

Defenders
Dias, Stones, Laporte, Ake, Cancelo, Walker, Zinchenko, Wijndal

Goalkeepers
Ederson, Steffen, Carson!

App PSG interested in mendy which if true is great news and we should make this our main out going priority this summer. He needs gone

Fantasy numbers. Won’t get a penny for Mendy or Roberts. In fact we’ll have to pay off the former or subsidise his wages. Sandler fee will be about the level you suggested.
Might get £7-10m for Yangel Herrera. Leeds will take up their £10m option on Harrison and Benfica will take up their £8m option on Porro. Maybe £2m with an option/sell-on for Felix Nmecha. Perhaps a couple of ither lowish fees for EDS players and CFG players/permanent loanees.

Always fantasy numbers when fans speculate on sale figures. The reality is that if a player is paid wages well above what a buying club would agree to then they effectively have a negative value / so they end up on loan / or getting a pay off to leave / or staying just for the money (see Gareth Bale / Real Madrid). We are in that scenario with Mendy but it can also apply to youth players - dont know what Patrick Roberts is on but i doubt he will be agreeing to more at his next club.

Option/obligation to buy (price already set):

Angelino 16m
Harrison 11m
Porro 7.5m
Ivan Ilic 10.5m
Braaf 9m

Total: 54m

Other players potentially leaving:
Yangel Herrera 10-15m?
Lukas Nmecha 10m?
Kabore 5m?
Luka Ilic 2-3m?
Muric 2-3m?
Luke Bolton 2m?
Matt Smith 2m?
Claudio Gomes 3-4m?

There`s also the likes of Palaversa, Bustos, Moreno x2, Meshino, Itakura and Arzani

There`s also the 15% sell-on clause for Sancho, and we got 3.5m when Frimpong moved from Celtic to Leverkusen. Could potentially get upwards of 100m just on fringe players
Wow, £100 million on players who have never played for the first team. That’s most of the Haaland money covered.

The 54m are from deals where the fee already is agreed. I might have been a bit optimistic on some of the other players, but a couple of them have done very well on loan. Nmecha has 15 goals so far in a quite poor side, Herrera has been class in La Liga, several clubs are looking at him. Plenty of Ligue 1 clubs interested in Kabore. There’s also the 15% Sancho sell on clause, which could be worth around 12-15m

I had to Google Kabore, he's that much of a 'fringe' player :(

Judging on this season, would we be happier to keep Aguero on Mahrez? They don’t obviously play the same position but with us playing a false 9, Mahrez, Torres, Sterling, Jesus, Aguero, Foden, Bernardo & even KDB are competing for the front 3 spots.

We do have to have a midfield you know.

I know but at present we’re playing Rodri or Fernandinho plus 2 others, usually Gundogan plus another. That means it’s usually KDB or Bernardo, if both play together one is the false 9.

I see it more as Gundogan, KdB and Bernardo rotating in the 2 midfield spots. Atleast from your attempt to look at positions and numbers it doesn't make sense to consider them as forwards imo.

Jesus or Aguero are more likely to be used as the 9, or even Foden as false 9.

Using Bernie or KdB as the false 9 is more a backup option.

Basically instead of 8 in 3 spots (which sounds like we are way too overstocked), I think of it more as 9 (include Gundogan) in 5 spots.

From the first team squad, only Mendy, Aguero, Garcia and Fernandinho should leave. To be replaced by Haaland (please), a new midfielder and new left back. Then there’s the wildcard of Messi which is one that’s phenomenal if we get him yet not the end of the world if we don’t.

Agüero ‘should’ leave? Absolute nonsense. Give the guy a break. He deserves the benefit of doubt for a 12 m extension

only mendy can go.

i think aguero and dinho need stay one more year.

add left back and douglas luis.

Judging on where the squad is at right now and what business we need to do in the summer my "outs" would be:

Mendy, Aguero, Fernandinho

With incomings being

Any fucking left back, Haaland, and Douglas Luiz (or Zakaria.)

Messi will always be a 'bonus' signing. Personally can't see Mahrez or Jesus going anywhere.
Can’t complain with that really. Would be sad about Aguero and Dinho going but they are getting on a bit
