Who’s gone in the summer?

If uefa relax FFP for the foreseeable future which seems more and more likely:

in:

steffen
Semedo
Upamecano
Alaba
Pau Torres
Auoar
Ferran Torres

out:

bravo
Cancelo
Otamendi
Angelino
David Silva
Leroy sane
Jack Harrison
Patrick Roberts
Alexia Garcia

Could use angelino in the upamecano deal and Alaba in the sane deal? Cancelo and semedo swap?
You do understand this isn’t a normal summer. If there is a window at all I can’t see it being more than a 4 week one maybe in August. Can’t see more than 3 transfers at the most.

Has someone been playing football manager?

Almada is a midfielder by the way

Yes he is a CAM, but can play on each Wing just as well.

Almada is a winger and offensive midfielder, I think he'd be a bit too weak to play a false 9 for us. If we'd play with a false 9 KDB would probably be the one. Almada would be a great winger alternative though.

If we want a young backup striker like Jesus in the beginning of his City career I'd look at Boadu. Excellent scoring and assist record in both the Eredivisie and Europa league, and he's born 2001. Fast, technical and clinical

Yes I agree, I see Almada's future at LW/CAM, where he is strongest but I believe he has the potential to also learn the false 9 role.

For my post I just sorted them to which position I think they would get the most minutes in next season.

So my guess for his future role would be LW/CAM followed by False 9

I added him at ST because if we buy him and he doesn't go on loan at the start of the season then it'll be the perfect opportunity for him to learn that role.

Mohamed Ihattaren is also one who's a CAM that can play Winger. If we buy him, his future would be at False 9 followed by RW/CAM

From what I've seen of them, my assessment is that Ihattaren is better suited to play as a false 9, while Almada is better suited for the Wings.

Adrian Bernabé is also another very interesting player, CAM/Winger hybrid, Potential to be a False 9 too.

Pep has played both Bernardo and Kevin as False 9s twice(Man U & Madrid) and it worked great against Man U, but against Madrid you could tell that Kevin and Bernardo were not very comfortable. Though of course they will improve, wouldn't it be better to just play them in their strongest position and instead mold the youngsters into that specialist false 9 role?

When Agüero departs, and if Jesus becomes the player we expect and is #1, then we simply have to look at our Academy. Liam Delap. If Agüero doesn't extend then Delap would be 18 years old and 5 months at the start of 21/22. Perfect age to play backup to Jesus.

Who would be our centre back recruits mate
When analyzing most of the centre backs we have been linked with, along with our current situation.

We need a back up to Laporte, the centre back that best fits the bill is Alessandro Bastoni.
21 years old, 1.90m tall, left-footed. He has amazing crossing/long passes, very composed defender. And of course he's playing and trusted by a Top coach in Conte.

So :
  • Laporte(26), Stones(26), Fernandinho(35)
  • Bastoni(21), Garcia(19)
Eric Garcia and Fernandinho to replace Otamendi. But that is not enough, we need a partner for Bellis.

PSG Center Back, Tanguy Kouassi(18 in june), he is regarded as a world class level CB/DM talent. He's a free agent in July.
He is right footed, 1.89m tall, elegant on the ball, Dominant aerially , basically the same profile as Harwood-Bellis for simplicity sake.

So that gives us 6 Centre Backs + 3 alternative (Fernandinho, Walker, Rodri)
  • Laporte(26), Sandler(23), Garcia(19)
  • Bastoni(21), Kouassi(18), Harwood-Bellis(18)
Kouassi still has not shown signs of signing his pro with PSG. RB leipzip and us are heavily Linked. RB promised him he would take upamecano's spot and seemed like the favorites to land him, but the latest report said we are very much still in the running to sign him.

So looking at leipzig's CB depth, with dayot gone and adding kouassi, they would have 5 CB.
3 inexperienced teenagers (including kouassi), along with Orban(28, team cpt) & Konaté (21).
So Unless Leipzig want to go a season with only 2 experienced CB(who are both injury prone) and rely on 3 teenagers, they will need to add another CB.

Thus if Kouassi joins RB, they will have 5-6 CB minimum.

But in the case that he was to join us instead, we will be 6 CB(3 experienced, 3 teenagers) + Fernandinho.

So I believe that we still have a great chance to sign Kouassi, as for both teams the amount of CB is roughly the same with a mix of youth & experience. But we have a better Sporting Project then Leipzig.

Is John stones the right person to partner laporte? My personal opinion is No(pep trusted Garcia & Fernandinho more) thus Sell stones to Arsenal and Buy a replacement(if needed)

might actually help with transfers though mate? Plus we already own steffen, Leipzig want angelino to stay do a deal could be done bringing the price of upamecano down of his release clause? Leroy to Bayern will happen this summer and if they want to lose of their wage bill they are well stacked at the back so Alaba could be an option? Cancelo and semedo could be done really quick as mendes reps both players?

Don't know that much about Delap, he only plays in the U18s so it's quite hard to judge a player in the youth teams. Many players who've dominated youth leages turns out to be bang average, especially if they have relied on their physicality (not saying that applies to Delap, just generally). I think Alexander Isak would suit our playstyle perfect. A great example of the modern striker: Very smart, fast, creative, technical, two footed and a natural finisher. He'd be a much better fit than someone like Haaland, and hype aside Isak is a better footballer too

Kouassi can join Leipzig and we'll take Upamecano

He will go into the u23 next season. And of course its only youth football, but delap has shown a lot of potential to be a complete striker so far. But we have until earliest summer 2021 before we need to start looking at a back up 9 to Jesus, so a long time to see how Delap develops.

Kouassi can join Leipzig and we'll take Upamecano
If we take Upamecano than do we need stones? Upamecano is better than stones and younger & experienced too. So we might as well ship off stones for upamecano, and also get Kouassi.

Stones probably realises himself that he needs a change of scenery. Arsenal, West Ham, Everton, Leicester, Wolves and Spurs would probably be interested. I'm thinking LCB: Laporte and a left footed backup. RCB: Upamecano, Fernandinho and Garcia. That left footed backup might as well be Aké to free a foreign slot

It'll certainly concentrate the minds of uefa and the FA once clubs start demanding to be able to sell and these idiots are still wanting to finish their season. Many clubs here and in Europe may need the transfer window to start earlier if anything as they may need to sell to balance the books and get wages down.
