He doesn't really bond with any other CB. Doesn't form a partnership which is why he will always be behind Dias and Stones whilst they play to their capability. I get the impression he is a bit of a loner and not particularly a team player. Great at his best but if he is unhappy he will be disruptive and if we can get £60m for him fair enough.

Almost perfect comment sums up Laporte perfectly imo. Just one point of disagreement... If City can get £60m for him, we will have witnessed a miracle.

Bring Walker into a 3 at the back,compensates for a lack of physicality and provides that extra reassurance.

Silva should be one of the first names on the team sheet in fairness, like I said if they want to go and can’t be persuaded otherwise then nowt we can do but if we are not careful we could end up with no striker ageing or slow dM and too many attackers not doing the dirty work.

I have yet to see a balanced and decent team put up if Laporte Silva goes and we sign Kane nor one if we don’t .

I don't think we are looking for an alternative tbf we seem happy with Ake and Sandler as 3rd/4th choice should he go.

So better to try and get his worth if we can which imho is more tha £75M, but if he goes for £60M then fine, it just seems very undervalued for his ability and present fees going about for a central defender

I think if we let him go and don't replace him then that is a major major issue. Ake is absolutely not a solution IMO
 
The most likely laporte deal is a loan with an obligation to buy.

i don't want to sell him anyway. He will play a lot of games for City this season if he stays.
 
Given that we have 3 very good CBs that all deserve to start, it maybe time for a new system.

Walker Rodri Cancelo
Kev. Grealish
Foden
Jesús

We've got used to Mahrez and Sterling hugging the touchlines but so have our opponents. Let Walker and Cancelo do it, with 3 creative players playing more centrally.
Looks good on paper. The downside don't see how Mahrez plays in this system. Torres and Raheem could play more centrally, especially Raheem if he played just off Jesus.

Appreciate that my mate but you said they had no chemistry. Unlikely to get that without playing together.

More than happy with Dias and Stones at the minute however rightly or wrongly I feel Dias Laporte has the potential to be better

Some of them think they are now Sigmund bloody Freud. Laporte after being lorded not so long ago is now a useless big baby who can’t mix with people or play alongside anyone. Dias and stones were great last year so now they are going to be great forever never lose form, need a rest or get injured. Add in Gundogan who is now a liability following his goals last year and major role in our record setting winning run.

The plan this year is to play as many attacking players as possible and hope we can pick the same back 4 for every game. Sign Kane and we may even be able to play Foden and Mahrez at full back.

Similar to what I was going to post.

Two years ago we thought Laporte deserved to be talked about in the same breath as Van Dijk. Now after recovering from an Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury there seems to be some unfair criticism of Laporte. If Stones had not made his massive upturn in form Laporte could still have been that player we thought he was 2 year ago.

If Laporte has a bad attitude fair enough, but he is still a top player.
