Who are you currently obsessed with musically ?

So I have a Spotify list called "Top One Each" where I have to pick just one favo(u)rite song from an individual artist, which means I have to make some really, really difficult choices among bands I love (and go re-listen to their music), and then some easy choices from one-hit wonders, especially those bands from the 80s and 90s, and pop radio. I think I'm up to 250-some tunes now.

My latest 5 additions: "Eighties" by Killing Joke, "Mandinka" by Sinead O'Connor, "My Happy Ending" by Avril Lavigne, "Found Out About You" by Gin Blossoms and "Can't You Hear Me Knocking?" by the Stones.

I am struggling mightily trying to pick one song from Sleater-Kinney, who have produced at least six great records plus a couple of good ones, so I guess they're my obsession currently. I know they turn a lot of people off because of Corin Tucker's voice, but they are fantastic. It is not even arguable that they are the best band without a bass player in the history of rock. And Janet Weiss is an incredibly underrated drummer (or was, since she split).

Have been into The Slow Readers Club for a few years now after seeing them support Puressence. They're Mancunian and sound not unlike The National, Editors & Interpol. Only downside, they are Rags!
Have also been listening to a lot of Working Mens Club since they were announced as one of the supports for New Order at Heaton Park. They're a young electro indie band from Todmorden with a varied sound that takes in everything from early rave to The Fall

So basically bands with club in their name. May I suggest s club …

Early James...but ONLY the early stuff. I've recently found a site that has loads of live recordings rom 1982 onwards...gigs when they supported the Smiths in 85. I'm obsessed with earwigs crawling into ears, black holes, scarecrows and hymns from villages. And a rag free band!

oh...I'm also obsessed with a singer called Tove Lo on YouTube...but with the sound muted ;)
